The British rule of Ireland
by @AndrewT
Ye, tho I walk through valley of the shadow of death.
U have to stop and question who caused all of this.
It was the British that invaded
The green white and the gold
The empire didn't strike back
The empire drew first blood
We stole their identity,
the vegetation and the land
We quashed their language.
We Enforced laws from England.
Every time they spoke in Irish
It was recorded with a necklace chain
In school it determined how many time they each got the Caine
Who the hell did We think we was
when we rounded up the sons.
Heavy handed coming though their doors parading our guns
Men and boys dragged from bed at night
Executed on the street
They didn't teach us this at school.
sounds like nazi shit to me.
We exported all their crops
Those who argued had to fight
We left them the bogs and potoatos
Infested with blight
A mass Irish immigration
Smuggled out by men from Spain
Headed off to the new found land
to leave behind the pain.
In 1916 they stood up
and declared an irish republic state
Illegally I might add however bold. britain must have hated it.
They took this opportunity in time to give them half a chance
While the brits were preoccupied making war down there in France.
So ireland were getting brave
the final uprising begins
With de valera the slimey snake and hero Michael collins
Michael collins had had a big presence
A towering 6ft man
He lead "the squad" of Irishmen
To fight the "the Cairo gang"
A British special unit
His majesties own spies
The squad Infiltrated them
Licenced to take their lives
While the irish public carried on
they had the craic n sang
Come out and fight me like a man
black n tan Egypt branch
The declaration of Irish independence England kept the 6 counties they want
Devilar was happy as michael collins signed his own death warrant
A game of Gaelic football
at croke park in 1920
A day gone down in history
The call it bloody sunday
Dublin and tipperary fans cheered and clapped their hands
As empire smashed in through the walls
With guns n armoured tanks
Unprovoked they opened fire with 14 people killed
100 more injured. Innocent blood spilled
I knew none of all of this
as I grew up in England.
I knew the ira,
The Catholics n protestants
The ira know where u live
is one line I remember
Whilst English fans show ignorance
when they chant "no surrender"
The irish spit and swear
and like to explode bombs
Warrington and Manchester
A little close to home
Next you feel Patriotism
Make sure you know the facts.
One side says they're liberating
The other says attcked
They say be careful over there
don't let them hear u talk
In truth they want to know my story
and where I'm coming from
Now at least you know the facts
You decide who's the baddies
Mancs n scousers be nice to the irish
coz the paddies are your daddies
