Prayer For Peace (Om Shanti)

What the world needs right now is fellowship amongst humankind

And when the mind taketh repose, our heart's will once again sing

Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti

Every day we wage war with ourselves, for what we resist persists

When the finite melds with the Infinite, all internal wars will cease

Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti

The night humbly surrenders to dayspring's call for Self-Remembrance

Euphoniously, they sing whilst nurturing their fresh springtide nests

Om, Shanti, Shanti, Shanti

Maybe our feathered brethren are messengers of truth, singing--

"Be like the willow and bend with the wind

Even the world's fastest sprinters can't outrun fear

Let us not give ire free rein to destroy that which we hold dear"...

Om, Shanti, Shanti, Shanti

Unity is not a fallacy; it's a living Truth

Unrealised until thy untethered heart leads the way

Let loving kindness mindfully breathe as if it were your last day"...

Om, Shanti, Shanti, Shanti

Shanti is written three times here to represent peace on three levels: internal (personal), social (with others), and universal.

Shanti means Peace

Prayer for Universal Peace
