Oh, in the mist of night
with the moon shining bright
and every living creature
has drifted into the land of midnight rest
and live once more
in their visions and dreams.
Oh, I once again embrace you
in my land of fairies and midnight queens
and I dance with you again in my arms
and oh how heaven's rest fills my heart.
Oh, then I am filled
with a love that once
I never imagined could ever flow
through the veins of any living man.
Oh, how you seem
like a thing not of this earth
but only a vision within a vision
that floats among the green fields and forest of heaven
and never wishes to come to earth
to know any mortal man.
Oh, this dream
I know not how my heart
can ever hold
for I feel that if mine
you will not be
my blood will grow
black and cold
and there will be a kiss of death
upon my soul
and I shall die
and all the hope
in heaven and earth
shall die with me
and all creation will be
like some barren burning land.
Oh, how the joy in my soul
sings like music
to bless this sad and forlorn
man that ever despaired to see love again.
Oh, and in all my dreams
I can see your face haunting before me
and I am filled with a longing
that no one but you
can fill within my heart.
And oh how I know
that all the fibers in my soul
shall ever sing
a song of such pleasure
and a song of such woe
for all of time
that has not yet been born.
Oh, my soul sings a song
of love for you.
Oh, from the center of my being it rises.
Every fiber in my being
calls your name.
Oh, it calls
for your precious love.
Oh, the only love
that can ever save my life.
For I know
that without you
I shall surely die.
Oh, for your love
is the food of my soul.
Oh, sometimes that song is a song of woe
And oh, sometimes that song is a song of joy.
I know the power
you hold over my heart.
Oh, for without your precious love
I will surely die
And all the world would die with me.
Oh, how you could make me weep
an ocean of tears
and give birth to all my fears
that I am nothing
in your eyes.
Oh,  but in your loving embrace
all the world
again returns to life
and all  creation
glows with the love of God.
Oh, how you cast
your hypnotic spell
upon my heart
and my life I would give
before I would ever lose you
my sweet loving angel.
Oh, how you make a difference.
Such a difference to my soul.
And I am changed forever
because of you.
Oh, within me that song
shall ever remain
deep within me
to give life to my soul.
Oh, and it shall forever remain
in my heart
till the sun sits on the last day.
Oh, love is the binding
of two lonely souls
united upon strands of  fiery steel.
Oh, my soul
is so bound in love to you
that should it ever be parted
from your love's embrace
I know I would surely die.
Oh, such a pain so great
within my heart
I dare my think
of such torment.
Oh, I know
that my soul
shall ever be with you.
You in me, and me in you.
Oh, when God created mortal man
to each one he gave
love divine.
Oh, as food is for the body
and the flesh
of my poor heart beating
so love is to the soul.
Oh, to your warm embrace
I return and return ever again
for the love
that can only feed my soul.
Oh, how I am ever at your mercy
and ever my heart shall seek you
the love in me
day and night says to my heart,
" Oh, my love for that angel eyed
shall last forever and forever.
Oh, greater that for love of kinsmen
and my mother dear
and all the men who ever died
beside me in battle
oh God rest their poor souls."
Oh, and your caressing red lips
I desire more
than the life giving water
that would wet
my parched and cracked lips
when through a burning desert
I should ever tread
upon those hot burning sands.
Oh, to my soul
you're are an oasis
of green and a cool breeze
upon my burning brow.
Oh, you are all the meaning of life
I shall ever need
and I shall delight in your love
for as long as time  shall last.
Oh, how my love
has become a song of woe.
Oh, how this heart
that has held you so dear
and swore upon my soul
that I would never ever let you go
holds such woe.
Oh, how it seems
that the whole world had died
and I along with it.
Oh, how my heart
has been nailed
upon a cross
of shadow and blackness
in a land of the dead.
And the ravens
that feed upon lost souls
feed upon this heart of mine
that once held
a love beyond the words
that the fibers of my brain
could ever express.
A love that was
only ever before
held within the heart of God.
Oh, how my heart
is but a poor broken thing
as I am a poor broken thing.
Oh, the blood that once
ran within me
giving life to all my bones and flesh
has become as cold and dark
as the hand of death.
Oh, and all the hope
of all my life
and everything it could ever be
has taken wings
and flown away
into the night that never ends.
Oh,  play upon your strings
and all the things
that once made
such music that made the heart so glad.
Oh, play a funeral march for me
play that music low and dark
with its drums so soft and low
for I know
that I shall soon pass away
like the last rays
of a setting sun
when race has been run.
Oh, for I shall soon pass
beyond the veil
from which none return.
Oh, how a poison
biting and strong
through my veins do flow.
Oh, the only thing
that can now give me
comfort and peace
is the thought
that from this world I shall fly.
Oh, as upon black angel wings
and my only peace now
are the words soon spoken.
"Oh, he is gone.
Oh, forever gone."
Oh, a cup of grief
I have drunk.
A drink bitter and strong
as to  turn any heart
to night.
Oh, how it turns my lips
cold as the earth
that lies beneath the winter snow.
Oh, how this world is now
a universe of shadow and death
that shall ever remain
till the stones crumble away
and all  the mountains are no more.
Oh, how could you ever love
a nameless man?
Oh, and how soon
would you ever forget me
A single day
and a single night
and I am gone from your mind.
Oh, my heart is a tragedy
of grief
when I fear
that I no longer live
within your heart.
Oh, does your pride
say to your heart
that it shall ascend
to the throne of heaven
and write your name among the glittering stars
that shine in the black velvet of night.
Oh, how I often times feel
that my life I have lived as a fool
that grabs for straws
and wishes for the impossible
when your love
has seemed like a phantom
slipping through the dark of night.
Oh, and then hope dawn in my heart
when I only catch
of love shining in your heart.
Oh, don't you know
that with the sight from your earthly eyes
you can't know
the path a single life can take
or the value of a soul.
Oh, my love
look into the depths of your heart
and try to measure if you can
the value of your soul.
Oh, do this first
and then you can measure
the value of mine.
Oh, or  peer into
the days and years to come
and they to see the path
your own life shall take.
Oh, don't you know
God alone can measure the soul
and see the path our live shall take.
Oh, my love be kind
when you seek to measure
my hearts worth
and the love that it holds.
For I know that with its last beating
of my heart
your name shall be on
the last breath from my lips.
Oh, do you love me?
Will you open up your heart to me
and sing to me a song of love
that shall make the angels weep?
Oh, do you really love me?
Like a mother love her child
and pledge your beating heart
forever to me
for as long as time can ever be.
Oh, would lay with me
upon a bed of stone?
And search for the a million years
until you find me
and forever make your home in my arms.
Oh, tell me
How can I plumb the depths
of your soul
and measure the love in your heart?
Oh, when in the mist of night
when I gaze upon the moon's shining orb
as it floats high upon the midnight sky
as it follows a path among the wispy clouds  of night
through  the starry heavens.
Oh, like some ancient god
from a long forgotten time
in a chariot of silver and gold.
Oh, in the midst of the  night
when all the world has gone to rest
and I in my solitude
gaze upon that silvery sphere
does your eye with me
oh wherever in this world you are?
And then do you ever remember me?
the one  you mean all the world to
And whose life he would give
for single kiss
from your precious lips.
Oh, my angel dove
how I pray to my father above
that a heart of flesh
beats within
and not a heart of cold stone.
Oh, don't you know
that my heart only beats
to give life
to my blood and bone.
Oh, but your heart when it beats
brings life to my soul
when it beats for me.
Oh , bear your beating heart to me
and let our souls become as one
and as one ever be
through time without end.
Oh, how words cannot tell
of all the passion and fire
I hold in my soul
that burns like an eternal flame
down in the center of all that I am.
Oh,  I am held in the deepest part of my being
as with bonds of steel
all burning in the heat
of my heart's white hot flame.
Oh, wherever you go
in all this cold and cruel world
my heart is ever with you.
And in all the starry heavens
or in the earth below
I know you shall forever be a part of me
and I of you.
Oh, one in two and two in one
we shall  forever be.
And the light of eternal love
shall shine its light upon us.
And bless us with the happiness
of the angels.
As  they sing their praise
to the ancient of days
as in the starry heaven
He sits upon his throne.
Oh, you are my love
for all eternity.
Oh, and I know I shall love you
as the ages roll.
Oh, and though I spoke a thousand languages
with a thousand tongues
and all the days of eternity
were in my hand
I could never tell of all the love
my heart holds for you.
Oh, my dear precious love
hold me!  Hold me for forever
and let our love
live in God's holy eternity.
