I am sorrounded by Idiots
obaraye Efosa Mar 2017
The other guy stood in front of a bus
He knew that wasn't a line to cross
But still his coins he tossed
Lost in thought, he just stood
Idiot they call him
But I beg to differ

The girl followed her friend
She didn't know the trend
Their needs she would tend
She didn't know when this would end
Her ways she'd bend
Idiot they called her
But I beg to differ

Every time he spoke
He sounded like he was high on coke
But we knew he was broke
Coke won't give him stroke
His words were like those the bicycle spoke spoke
Idiot they called him
But I beg to differ

Abstinence is good
*** could be crude
For some it's food
Others it's just rude
But then we know what is crude
about what is good
that is food and could be rude
Idiot they call us
But I beg to differ

wise ones exist
Idiots persist
From the truth they desist
The truth they resist
Idiots they call them
But I beg to differ

Yes I am surrounded by idiots
But no am not an idiot
Cause am wise enough to learn from them
Let their foolishness give me a view of my future if I follow them
Wise men are known for what they say
When wise men stop saying wise things they become idiots...
To be continued in the book...

"I am surrounded by idiots" - 10 things idiots won't tell!

She is still a girl
obaraye Efosa Feb 2017
The creators creation is flawless
But none the less
some think it's okay to treat some less
truth is boy will always be boy
And girl will always be girl

Let her be born into a home of men
Let her learn to live like a man
Let her walk and talk like a man
No matter how much she looks like a man
Deep down she will always be a girl

Let her go to an all boys school
Let her be flogged severally like a boy
Let her eat and dress like a boy
Let her hate boys and like girls
No matter what happens
Deep down she will always be a girl

Let her stay in doors all through university
Let her never have a boyfriend or fall in love
Let her study a course like engineering
With almost no girl but her in her class
Let her become a tomboy
No matter what she does she will always be a girl

Train her to be a soilder
Let the sound of her slap take you out
Let her punch end lives
Let her gun take and save millions of lives
Let her go through the most rigorous training for the most terrible and stubborn male soilders
Let her graduate as the army's toughest soilder
Let her close more cases than anyone ever
Let her travel to hostile zones killing people and making hard decisions
Let her be ruthless and considered heartless
No matter what she does
Deep down she will always remain a girl

Call doctor 90201 or The doctor number 1
Let him take away her heart and replace it with a rock
Remove her blood and inject acid
Turn her into a machine
As long as she is still alive
No matter what he does to her
Deep down she will always be a girl

She will hurt when u do something that can hurt her
She will love hard
Her heart will break when you drop it
She will always try to be right
She will always have what it takes to be a mother, a loving one
She will cry when she is hurt
She will feel the pain when you inflict it
Not because she is not tough or anything close
But because no matter what she does
No matter how, or where or when she does it
Deep down she is and will always be a girl

It doesn't matter who she is or says she is
Civilian or military
Tough or rough
Weak or strong
She is and will always be a woman
Treat her right
Show her love, she will feel like any other girl.
Treat her right, she is perfect irrespective of who she has grown to be.

The creators creation is flawless
But none the less
some think it's okay to treat some less
Truth is boy will always be boy
And girl will always be girl

What To Do?
obaraye Efosa Mar 2017
Christ the messiah, my greatest desire
My first love, not from me but for me
U see he loved me before I came
Before I was formed or born
Before the *******
Before my journey on this course

Christ the only one who loves me because of who he is
Irrespective of who I am or what I am or what I do or how or when I do it
He loves me still
And even though I took so long to realize
See even though I stayed so long hurting him
Humans like me put a nail through him
A spare to his side
Crown of thorns to his head
Whips, bruises
All for me was taken

Christ the one who receives my calls even without network
Even when I no call, He answers
The One that is stuck to me like glue
When every one left me without a clue
U Never left me too
programmed to love me like a robot
And your love for me...robust

Christ the oluwa that is always involved in my matter
As he made my life his alma matter
It's clear to him I matter
And so no matter the matter
He never dumps me for any matter
Cause to him am the main matter

Christ our messiah our maker
Our elohim, the only him
Our father, our brother,
My friend, my real Guy
I am thinking what will you and I or we do when we see him
His glory radiating
Angels surround him
Mighty, beautiful, handsome, pretty, gorgeous
Our father finally, we meet.
What will you and I or we do when we see him

Will you lift up your voice and worship him
Cry out with a loud voice agbadagbururu
Kabiesi, I worship u, I worship u
Sing a song, do a dance,
A stunt, jump, cry, smile laugh shout

Or will u just stare overwhelmed by his glory
Bilweldered by his presence
Unable to speak because words cannot describe
Unable to sing because no song has the lyrics to ascribe
Unable to move, or smile or talk or laugh or think
With your mouth open, eyes wide open staring,
Brain searching for words

Christ, omini awesome
Omini too good
Jehova overdo
Jehova swheet jehova shoft
Am still thinking what will I do when I see you.
This piece unlike all other poems is different because it uses a few Nigerian languages including pidgin English. Enjoy the piece. Read it as written, pronounce the words as spelt. It's not typo. It's the style! Thank you.

Love is perfect
obaraye Efosa Feb 2017
But truth be told.....
Let's not be cold
love isn't 50/50
it's 95% failure 5% success....
there's a far greater chance of epic failure
than epic romance.....
So he said

But in my mind all I heard
Was the voice of a guy sad
What he said with so much confidence
I could hear the guy sitting next to me
Whisper quietly to his girl
As things began to become tense
This wasn't making sense

How would a guy be so sure
As though he was the cure
He spoke as the room
Nodded in silence everyone was sure he was right
They knew they had to hold tight
Their relationships
Cause it could fail anytime soon

That day with only a few words he struck fear into their hearts
Their hats they took off
Hearts were mended
Broken bonds re tied
It was good to help people but why tell a lie I thought

You see at that point
In that room I couldn't get why
A normal human being would say that a thing created by God
Has a 95% chance of failure
So wait God made something imperfect?
A thing doomed to fail most of the times?
Wait that is blasphemy...
To say a thing like that Femi
Was to say a God like God can make mistakes
We know with him there is no such thing

So I met this girl and I was sure I would be that exception
The way she spoke to me
How she reacted to me
And the crazy silly little things I do
I could swear she loved me
She would refrain from telling me she loved me
And also that she didn't
It was complicated but I could see clearly
She was bae

Or I tried to make her bae
You see this particular girl was different
She never really stated clearly if she liked me
But one thing was certain she didn't want anything
So this thing that I carried within
Love the joy of it
Became a burden, the pain of rejection
Not that she hurt me, but because she just wasn't ready
And while that was cool
Too my heart wasn't okay with it
My friend would say chop biscuit
Na so woman matter be

You see I didn't really get heart broken
As much as they had spoken
My heart was still open
Hoping maybe things would change soon
But in that moment
I knew I was wrong
Femi never meant love was imperfect
He meant being accepted by who you love wasn't
That day I learned from my little experience
Loving someone is nothing if you ain't loved back

But truth be told.....
Let's not be cold
love isn't 50/50
it's 95% failure 5% success....
there's a far greater chance of epic failure
than epic romance.....
So he said

I still try, I still hope
Even though I know I might fail
Not because I believe 95% would reduce to 0
But because that other 5% could just be all I need
To who ever I love
Am not coming for you because I know you love me too
But because I love you
And even though I know it might not work
You are worth the shot
And the hole it creates
Yes love is perfect but being accepted
Well that's another story.
