Comforted at Last
Nomutsa Oliver Feb 2012
Suddenly, an undefined calmness is pronounced,
Can’t really explain but it’s so nourishing,
The hurt and the pain all washed away,
The disease, instructed to be at ease,
Feel peace itself, flowing in the veins,
A true rebirth of tranquility,
With no doubt nor fear, whatsoever,
Pure sound mind with no running thoughts,
Feels like being embraced by something so awesome,
Can’t help it but smile to oneself,
The sleep at night becomes burden less,
Feels like a sickness healed by a sent word,
Feels like a new father to the orphan,
Feels like walking in the midst of angels,
Feels like flowing with the living waters,
Feels like it had stopped storming,
The belly filled with utterances of gratitude,
In the name of amazing comfort,
Comforted by the comforter…

Poor lil Kids
Nomutsa Oliver Feb 2012
All that was told were lies,
Yet they were blinded,
For your friend is a friend, they believed,
Dancing always, in the same circle,
Little did they know about the game Judas played,
To hug and to kiss, with a mind to rebel,
Poor lil kids, betrayed by a so called “dear” friend,
Now they sob sorrowfully day and night,
So innocent and so defenseless yet brutally attacked,
With spiteful words, a hug then a kiss,
For the love of money, the master is gone,
A shame, a shame, a shame, poor lil kids,
You ain’t got no silver nor gold,
But only a sincere and faithful heart…

Echoes of a Heartbreak
Nomutsa Oliver Feb 2012
I felt it as it went away,
Felt it as it bounced,
I felt it coming back,
Hitting me again, even harder than before,
And the cycle continues,
Felt I’m some real *******,
Not only unloved, but grossly humiliated,
So unwanted, badly trampled and unceremoniously discarded,
Scorned, mocked and truly embarrassed,
With words unheard of, from the deceiver,
A two timer, a player, a love in the passing,
So unimaginable, the pain so unbearable,
Like a fissure, a dent, a crack at the heart,
Long for some relief, but who knows what you are going through?
Want this to stop now, but only a tear drop after another,
As the pain goes by, bounces then torment you once more…

Festive Spirit
Nomutsa Oliver Nov 2010
You all know how it feels,
To be loved,
You all know what it means,
To be in a family,
But I grew up in the streets,
I had never known my mother,
I had never heard of my father,
Only strangers are around,
And calling me all sorts of names,
But somebody told me it’s Christmas time,
Taking me to a place I now call home,
Promised me I won’t eat from the bins again,
But shall harvest some goodwill,
In the Spirit of the festive season,
* Xmas special

The road to stardom
Nomutsa Oliver Aug 2010
This way it is today
Is it the way it should be
Or was it ever meant to be
This way it is today?
For a period far too long
Like eternity and a month
I never thought it otherwise
I believed they were just dreams
Castles hanging in the skies
The skies which now keep me company
Hey me, is it really me?
Where are you dust life?
We used to kiss every day
Where are you filthy rags?
We used to be close friends
Hey you ***** dusty bins
Don’t you want my handshake no more?
I won’t lie on you again, streets
I’ve got a couple of bedroom suites
Making friends was not easy
Indeed, it was like impossible
But now the coin flipped the other side
Everyone is basking in my success
From glory to glory I still elevate
Hey me, you better tell me now
Is it really, really me?

A woman for all
Nomutsa Oliver Aug 2010
A woman of nature
She is a superb creation
Wonderfully and fearfully made

A woman of substance
She is a perfect help mate
Assigned for this duty by God

A woman of love
She is sincere in her ways
Her heart is filled with kindness

A woman of patience
She is like the keeper of time
She makes each day counts

A woman of praise
She is an instrument of worship
Her lips utter words in songs

A woman of respect
She is sign of fine status
Blessed is a man who finds her

A woman for all
She is the mother of mankind
May God bless her forever more
Dedication to all women across the world, for Woman's Day
