Windmills and Tail Spins
Nikki Liz Aug 2010
There's something in the way it moves in my dreams
A shadow clock Night Watch to pummel the walls down.
It starts as a cold chill, windmills and tail spins.
Clarity is not an option in this illusion that surrounds me,
water keeps pouring out of the ceiling, drowning me.
Falling, keep falling.
I can feel it in the pit of my stomach.
All of my fears, they find me here
It hardly feels like I'm asleep
While the rest of the world drifts off to dream
I'm fighting the one's who creep.

Deprive. Flog. Repeat.
Nikki Liz Aug 2010
I waste my time with you, everyday with you
Enraptured in this sin that we've been hiding in
Years go by with us pretending
Our connection we keep defending
And in the denial we become consumed
I waste my life with you

Puppet master you tried to play
For years holding srtings that have started to fray.
Oh poor puppet man, how will you ever stand
without the strings in your hand?
I'm sprinting away without a shadow of doubt.
I'll go in this way, and find my own way out.
Finding my own water when I get thirsty
Rinsing clean all that makes my mouth *****.
Vast desert landscapes have nothing on me
For I am the one that's creating the heat.
You can throw your stones and tell me I'm weak
but your stones will just shatter and I will still be.
So much power is packed in my fist,
for I've wined and dined and conversed with Jesus.
I've seen white lights that you will never witness.
So go on, Puppet Master, keep working those strings
that are tattered and broken, ******* to nothing.

CIRCADIAN
Nikki Liz Jul 2011
Can we push rewind for a minute?
Feel the press of the pause and just stand here in it.
Scissor sharp words that are silenced by the stop
The darkness is severed because the sun cannot drop
I dont want to see what lies on the other side
I just want you to stay here, in the pause we can hide
But I know we're not that lucky and cant rewind from here
The circadian rhythm will never disappear
