The day is bright,
The peace is new;
The feelings...so amazing
When I'm with you.
Thank you for coming into my life;
Someday I want to be your wife.

Anticipating a heightened drop;
Feeling as if about to pop.
Sweat radiates a glassy glow;
Confetti floating, falling like snow.

We are together,
Moving as one,
Dancing til' we die
From/Under the heat of the Sun.

The sounds captivate,
All my senses,
When I escape
Under false pretenses.

Drifting off to a higher place,
Surrounded by many, but it's only your face.
Take me, embrace me, don't let me go.
Can we fly away into the sky, up from the low?

The light falls all around me,
To the ground, there is no sound.

I stand tall, illuminated and glowing with brilliance.
People all around me, and I am kept rooted through the connections I have found.

Clarity and peace woven through my inner being;
Imagining serenity and a smile finds me.

Just then, the light fades to green.
I put it in my pocket and take it everywhere with me.

I seek to be free,
To be me, only me.

I am strong and happy,
I am smart and savvy.

I pass out smiles,
And I lend many laughs.

But to you I am "none of the above",
Why can't you see, all I want is your love.

You're quick to judge me and my ways,
As I sit back wondering if we'll see better days.

Around you I am angry;
I become tangled as I curl,
Up into a ball,
Whilst the darkened clouds swirl.

As I step foot outside to take on the world,
All the twisted tangles once woven so tight slowly unfurl.

In the end you see,
You must let me be me,
A forever growing and changing tree.
Stop trying to cut my branches that sway,
Waving with the wind on a beauteous summer day.

Listening to voices of free fleeting birds,
I yearn to be one of them, so joyous and heard.

Their simple-minded nature, their freedom from control;
The carefree flight in these birds encapsulates my soul.
But then...
My eyes well up and turn into ocean,
While heavy rocks sink me to hard ground.
Why is it here I wonder where else my soul can be found?

And then I turn to look and see,
What entity is shining so brightly for me.
I see a glowing light by the intricately woven roots of a tree,
Full of laughter that is trilling with feelings of ecstasy.

The rocks finally move out of my way,
To a place where there is not a light of day;
And the luminescence naturally pervades,
As the trees nurturing branches reach out and sway.

Endless appreciation bursts out of my soul;
This beautiful view of forever builds broken me into whole.
