There once was a man who travelled in time
He gladly left his home for adventure
And found it doing scientific crime.
He was called a prophet and avenger.
They easily became his profession.
He dealt swift justice regarding the past,
Leaving to some a confused impression.
His large amount of deeds was unsurpassed.
He was hooked to the future like a dream.
The world was his and he had all options,
and nothing was grander than his esteem,
but one desire consumed him like toxins.
He wanted his close companions to brag
But he no longer knew future from past.
This is my attempt at a sonnet. I'm not very good at poems that conform to a certain style, so it would really help if you could give me some critiques.
"Breathless"

Her voice so tender and sweet
eyes so soulful and deep
passion filling her soul and heart
she leaves me breathless..

Seeing his soul so full of life
his heart on fire with desire
lust painting his canvass
He leaves me breathless..

Two reaching across the vast pond
one undeniable union..

His voice so soothing
love flowing from him
Both left breathless...

In the Darkness I smile
knowing all the while
deep inside my inner child
lies lust and danger ever wild

A breath of air I do mark
for if not to fight I do bark
if not for purpose on a lark
I do act like the  shark

I chew and spit and cry out loud
adrenaline veins  stain my shroud
destroy the living I have vowed
the lives of kings are strong and proud

My magic bullet knows no bounds
I hunt bloodthirsty like the  hell hounds
and in the air  you hear my sound
as I hunt and take  my quarry down

Anger  surges inside of me
yet deathly still I can be
invisible as to not see
the moment of deaths pedigree

You may see me in your dreams
or in shadow as it may seem
black scales and midnight gleam
a ray of darkness or evil scream

Hope fades waning in the light
when evil wings do take flight
storm clouds rising bring the blight
screams of anguish in the night

Temptation brings a soul  to steal
great white hunts unknowing seal
darkness hides thus won't reveal
one of the seven, named Belial.

Death toll climbing as is willed
fallow soul left unfulfilled
guilt pollutes decay instilled
no goodness left when we have killed

Humanity I cry,  let thou be warned
when thou livest a life of scorn
a lie be a dagger like an acorn
where a tree from a seedling leaves are born.
Can you believe the sky is green?
Or the waters yellow hue?
Don't you love the purple grass?
The lemons oh so blue?

Do you see the orange clouds?
The giant trees of red?
Can you touch the pink snowflakes?
Is this messing with your head?
When my warrior went to another woman,
I went through the Kleenex like mad
And became all crazy, for he
Is precious to me and never knew it
Because he didn't ask and couldn't see
And never knew what he has done to me.
Of course I stepped aside--
Being not of the groveling sort--
Because his destiny is his to determine,
Not mine. However,

I did make a vow to guard him well,
Especially after events conspired as they did
And left him battered and groundless,
Fragile and frail. I feared for my muse
As I saw him spinning away,
So I took some of his pain and made it
My own, adding it to that which I already carry,
And this is a reminder to him and to me
That I am formidable and not easily
Dissuaded from what I have chosen to do.
Take up this rough hewn cup.
I offer it unto thee.
It is filled with all the tears;
That Hope, has shed upon the sea.

Drink of it, and sorrow.
Let your good deeds slip away.
There is no need for pity,
Now your heart has turned to clay.

Then look upon the world,
With your terracotta eyes,
And seek the beauty that only,
You and Death despise.

My hope has flown away,
As yours has done, unknowing.
I’ll leave you now to wonder,
Through the darkness that is growing…

… But I’ll meet you at the cross roads,
When your heart is full to breaking.
Then I’ll take the cup, and take your tears,
And we’ll sleep the sleep not waking.

O’ rage you hapless sea, and cry,
Hope’s tears are not for thee.
Spray your passion unto the stars,
…And cast your mercy… Unto me.
Vent away.
What to wear?
Every morning I get up
And brush my teeth
Return to my room and decide
what to wear?

People will not see me clearly
Only the clothes I wear
And in a instant they will judge me
Their thoughts punching me with their opinions
Of which I will never understand the reasons why
They instantly extract the patterns and colors, shapes and lengths
And determine what I am in their head
They decide by one glance if I am good enough for them
Their faces say it all.

So what to wear?
Which box should I put myself in today?
Clothes are just coverings on my skin.
or are they shields to protect what is actually on the inside.
Let us button up, lace up, tie, wrap and fix that armor perfectly so that
no one suspects anything.
Its time to go.
Just let it go
When after doing your best nothing comes up,
Let it flow
When after telling yourself it's okay
But still you feel bitter deep inside.

Call it a day and surrender,
Tomorrow's another sunrise
Maybe you'll do better;
Everyone has a time to call their own,
Surely yours is about to come;

Just have a vigilant, hardworking heart
And then you'll find find it in no time.

The flooding puddles of your eyes
reflect nothing but the skies and
trees with leaves as dead as skin
on elbows in winter.

Your two-toned heart won't separate
the simple verbs to conjugate from be
to am to are to is--
the peeling of our action.
I'll wait for sunlight, blue skies, and stars
I can wait for spring!
Wait for your words to mean what a dictionary describes.

Grey does nothing for your eyes.
They still twinkle with delight
soggy grass and slippery walks
like soggy emotions in your slippery thoughts.
You're winter now.
I'm spring.
You're dead--I'm thriving.
your plea for surviving, what hope!
What loss! What cost!

God shouldn't have trusted you with that smile.
Your rat-like grim untrustworthy guile.
That duplicitous manner in which you speak
Oh how you out shine your ***!

Your failed promises,
attempts to leave me.
to please me.
Oh! How you leave me pleased!

Your tokens broken, torn and stored
In wires above my bed
slip visions of you in my dreams.
A morning sight, such sweet delightful
beginnings to long dragging days.

Even through your thunder storm
Your vexation brings me joy.
Cry
Do you ever just want to cry
Just let the tears fall.
But you can't
You won't ever be able to
Because you're the strong one
You make things better
Offer hugs and mugs of tea
Because you're the strong one
You help put the pieces back together
That's how it works
Because you're the strong one
Except you're breaking
And you want to cry but you can't
Because you're the strong one
