I could no longer
stay in a place
in which I did not belong.
I hoped you would compromise,
fight with love on your side.
Alas, it was too difficult,
too much of a burden
for you to fight for me,
for you to keep me,
for you to love me.

I was no longer thriving,
I was miserable.
It was time
for a differing adventure.
And so, impatient,
filled to the brim with gaiety,
I told you.
You acknowledged
my decision,
but will you leave
as I walk an unknown path
of obscurity?
Will you stay, support me,
love me?
Or will you leave?

A school,
engulfed by many pure,
untouched, untainted
by lust.

And those
who have indulged
have discovered the epitome
of love.
Alas, after it all,
they knew the loss
of their virginity.

you are so delicate,
so pure
and brilliant,
i can't help but look at your smile
and think of
silver lace.

A chaste thing it is,
to stare at your reflection
as you decorate your face,
watching the transition.

I collect cassettes,
little boxes of music
as the tape spins about
in a vintage melody.

i use chalk
on a blackboard
to bring my imagination
to life.
