I've got the same **** memories that
Will never let me sleep,
Words like love
Can only reach so far

Spin us around ‘til our legs can’t stand,
We may fall but there’s no distance
If your hand is in mine

It’s dark outside
I’ll need a guide if I want to make it home.
I called your name and
I can’t say if you're quite as alone

I held your hand through thick and thin, kissed your skin and made you calm.
Now I need a hand of my own to hold,
But yours is barely hanging on

I should have known when
We were destined for falling down, but
Instead I’ve been chasing dreams that pull me around
Taking me anywhere but home.

I wandered away from myself to pick a bouquet
That would show you
I’m sorry for not being the man
I should always be.

I picked one for each day
I couldn’t hold you the way I do, and
Only after seven flowers filled each hand
Did I realize the weeks I’ve lost.

I’ve been patient and waiting, but
That’s a past love now
Baby, just let us be. Let this distance between us
Grow worlds and worlds apart.
If not for these tangled sheets tying me you’d be
Stuck in that dream and never feel me leave.

Baby, you’re a melody that I just have to buy for me.
That’s how you keep me broke like the sight on Cupid’s crossbow
When he shot me in the eye, oh.
Now all I see are the illusions, a Russian roulette I get to choose from.
But tonight, girl I’m a blind man, let’***** the masquerade and
I’ll see if I can find you.

Can’t you see it wears us out, stumbling?
Tails tucked tight our tongues are fumbling.
You’re wondering who I’m walking to talking to,
I’m thinking whose stalking, sweet-talking you.

I know that something’s going to **** me tonight.
It could be my answers needing questions, jeopardy.
It’s all a delicate eggshell and you think it’s just a dream
Until a girl in Stella with some Secrets, undresses me.

I remember. I remember how we used to
Just take our time with it
I’d turn you out like it’s our very first time with it
But, now I’m falling for memories and

        Time is slipping away

Real life satellites are as far as us tonight.
You and I are running blind now.
Pass me a cool cup of some stranger’s air.
I guess I can say more when
We wake up and you’re a thousand miles away.

I just want a girl that I can take and shake the world with,
Our time is all we got, I’ll be John, you be my Jane Smith
And we can make this room spin upside down.
I know we’ve been running low but I think we can work it out.

I just want a girl to kiss in Grand Central,
Have people turn cameras from the
Ceiling to our lips

Lie to me
Lie and tell me it’s all right
Lie every time that you
Lie with me beneath debris that we make
Day after day.
Are we ok

I'm a pirate.

Fully in my whiskey now and
My three sheets are sailing out.
I can’t choke down on these words anymore,
This liquor tongue is breaking out.

Because you were my melody,
A song I could sing by memory.

But I can't, I won't buy you anymore.

So I guess I'm a pirate now
Sailing silently on this soundless sea.

Bar tabs will drown every sound for now, even when
Siren songs call me back to shore.
They sing, "Hold on, come home"
They sing,  "I was wrong, so wrong"

But I'm a pirate now
Stealing songs, and steering
Far, far away

You're acting so shy in the front seat with the
Streetlights dancing across your cheeks.
Catch my eye, and I promise I won’t turn away.
The lights they change, but we don’t face the road
Until you hit me with those kiss me lips

I don’t want to take you home
I don’t want to end this night.
I want to watch the moon grow old and
I want to watch the star shine die.
We’ll run circles ‘round this town ‘til my gas runs out.
You’ll smile and pretend you didn’t know
I took the long way home.

I remember how you caught me,
A drunken smile that left me wanting.

I remember you we’re poured in that dress
Just a silhouette against me dancing

Days were minutes, months an hour.
We moved so fast if felt like drifting,
Afraid to move and change the pacing
We couldn't slow down on that summer breeze

Save me one more night.

Save me one more song
Where
You're a girl and
I'm a guy and
Nothing's wrong

Please let the city be still tonight
Because I have things left to say,

Words wind can push and pull, then blow away.
Kiss me so hard I forget up from down, night from day, east from west

In hopes I’ll get lost instead.

Please don’t fall apart on me now
But if you will,
I’ll put you back together with pieces of me

I’ve just seen love. At least I think
I caught a glimpse or two
Between the blinks

Because I can’t get the smell of guitar strings off my hands and
Playing this **** thing is all I can do.

So now that I’ve found you, I've the need to surround you with evidence
Because I’ve been fooled before by the beautiful mask in front of it.

I know that I'm fully in my whiskey now
Because I'm singing a song for two all by myself, so

Can I please feel the Warmth in my skinny arms
Because they've never felt the weight of love, nor
Has my skinny heart

I really hate the way I’m feeling.
It’s just not cold enough to steal a sheet and wake you up.
How do you know I’m really not ok?
How do I know you read my mind?

How many times do you feel like
You’re running in circles with me?

I want to show you what I’ve come down with,
It’s not sickness it’s honesty.

You used to be my air,
You used to be my breath,
You  used to be my share of the world,

But now

I can’t breathe when we lie awake in bed silently.
I’m no angel and never claimed to be, and
I know what we both are thinking
But who will leave?
