Intangible, this feeling
Is as real as the tangible proof
I've seen, felt, and tasted
That makes the reality of you
tangible (n.) - something that can be seen, touched, and/or tasted

You don't  ever learn, do you?
Look what he's done to you

You don't deserve this
Stop caving in to the temporary bliss

She was a magician
Making people believe
Tricks and illusions
Of happiness and glee

Oh, but despite the good charade
All she really needed
Was one individual from that sea
To see right through

Pull her down from that stage
Say show's over
Reveal your true self
And I will believe you

Always I can sense you
Instinctively
Unknowingly
Inescapably

It was always there
One so resounding, never ending
It seemed to last forever
The pain and distraught it was bringing

When I least saw it coming
The spectrum I'm in got bigger, wider
In time's incessant passing
The resonance grew weaker, softer

Away, I got farther
Ceased recall of the feeling
A sillage, now only a reminder
Of a memory that would soon lose meaning
an outlook, a place I hope to reach

sillage (n.) - fr. a lingering impression of something having passed by

Had
Had we been more open
The collapse wouldn't have had to happen

Had we said what was inside our heads
It wouldn't have been this difficult to mend

Had we known
We could've prevented the blow

Had we held on
There wouldn't be the need for moving on

Had we done things differently
We could've remembered each other fondly

Who am I kidding though?
We both know
Had we stayed
It still would've remained frayed
There is no had we.
We had.
We wasted what we had.

I will always protect you. I will always look out for you. I will always worry if something happens to you. Perhaps, I will always love you too; just not in that way.
You were once my life. You're only a part of it now. But you always will.
