The year of the strangest weather
watch the sky covered in white feathers
My heart screams from utter discontent
my mouth is dry and wavering, lips gone pale and cold
while I stare at the clock, I know I'm getting old
He said; 'A step forward and you'll end up two steps backwards'
I'm at standstill, watching the world in high-speed
Again he whispered; 'Or two steps backward and you'll be back again from the start.'
snap up from a daze, as I counted the days
with resentment he said; 'three jumps and a white card will get you there'
to which I replied; 'three jumps and a what card won't get me nowhere'
You're clever, I see, so why not be free?
You're whispering again, I'll listen, but what good will it do me?
If you'll embrace goodbye, there's nothing more
three jumps will get you there, three jumps, now do it and see
I jumped. The third one set me free...
