I bend branches in pursuit of nostalgia

I collect glances like a glass jar habitat

They light tiny spaces

while a lack of oxygen conspires the *****

No mercy in a world where free will falters

A childish curiosity killed the glow
A Steady display now dim and stuttered
A momentary depression on discovery

Curbside funeral

resigned for the sake of memory

Ponder patterns weaved by a concrete choked charade

We have what we need but hurry for another anxiety

institutions for conclusion fall short under an indifferent heaven

Conviction reassembles

stationery like statuary

human conditions climb the clutter

Your centuries were numerous

Now contained with disdain inside cardboard cutouts

The dusk dances and shade shifts

Under muted skies

Stagnant shadows elongate

Derelict distinction now a contorted silhouette

ridiculous renditions conspire another fiction

We scream for clarity with clinched jaw

Bloom bound prairie

shake off these frozen confines

Brace for nothing

The sun stays away

familiar strangers cluster

****** another murmur with your abrasive tongue

Kick a can IF you must

This is a paradise for the broken home hero

Tilted shadows hide an uneasy nostalgia

Tree side muck pond ripple

A stone thrown for the sake of motion

A sigh retired for the sake of gumption

Fanatic ghosts reminisce over dusty diners

Tables like saw dust and lights dulled from a haywire hand

Grease plate pallet

you whisper

"God bless America"

into your headpiece

Indeed?

I think not sir

Dry toast and indifference for the soaking

Truck stop sickly and the road is endless

Rest stop epiphany and the desert screams with concurrence

Falsehood frenzy

our collisions grow more hysterical

grow more contrived

What a combination for the ponder patch

A slice of sanity on a pie full of red light liquidation

A drive by delusion

concrete echoes notions of finality

Spent for the folly

Sprint for the skyline

it keeps receding

I keep pleading

Show me what it means to be nonsense

Show me the theory that keeps us nodding like wire birds

wondering why we lack buoyancy

Wanting perches and obligatory blindness

Break me the way you broke the rest

A smile like satire

A mind like lunacy

Between I find something resembling reason

Complicate me for a dozen sighs

A youthful urgency sick like gin

I panic when I'm left with time

A stranger creature fills this skin

Excuse my mind that remains remote

Confuse an eye that perceives the most

For every answer there is a mask

Full of wonder and steadfast cracks

Time takes another creature for a ride

Preconceived notions fall in kind

A picture splattered for your crime

Some pity scattered for your dime

Slots for coins and the dead dance dainty

The pinstriped smile says...

NOW SIR!

don't be hasty

You see these moments you spend considering ghosts

Comparing their pursuit of legendary quotes

Looking for a season so lovingly stoked

You forget the now and all it's seams

Frayed from function but pleasantly pleased

Exhausted of purpose from the perpetual squeeze

These lines left for common sound

These lies kept for fine tuned clowns

clutter an avenue once so pure

sidestep obscurity now fully mature

Tiptoe the twine now used for speech

Tin can communicators for your leap

A rusted voice box silently weeps

Comfort controlled a room temp torture

Grasping a stone for the high stake mourners

Your God died a thousand times

Your madness was muted by a void streaked sky

I leave you now with so much contradiction

and retire my climb from a floundering friction

Why do you all gather just to shatter?

Grip another frame and nod to the banter

Your eyes stay vacant in faces like plaster

Lines for lunacy and the jaws move faster

Dawn dazed youth distracted by a sunbeam

Speak about nothing but stay smug when the lights gleam

Laugh for the alien with a sober reaction

What we lack in conviction we make up in traction

We only speak sense to a casual observer

Black light goddess with the vanity fervor

in these spaces full of frenzied freaks

The highs scream predatory and the time sings bleak

There once was a mind fully defined

it's wiring now wrought with exposure

Time always comes hysterically inclined

disrupting these dispositions claiming composure

She lives in highs and strange spaces

conducting disbelief like a prodigy

an abstract anxiety for her pause

She wears a thousand chemical faces

each mask fine tuned for fiction

disposition suggests life has no flaws

Somewhere in those pupils lies a person

weave through the vanity for a pure bewilderment

I see your hysteria lies in these monsters made mute

Those one sequestered away for the sake of breathing

these delusions dissected

these rabid renditions you call life

they can only perpetuate profound confusion

I see your mind broke before you had a chance for clarity

I now understand the shadows you call shade

an artificial sun was your only means for illumination

I now know you existed like so much obscurity digested

Another life casualty for the whirlpool

Another wonder wasted for the sake of exhaustion

Polluted precision

the calling card of mankind

Stained structures and hazmat huddles

Cluttered minds with no jurisdiction

Face mask population
black stained the blue

What was once considered unexcused is now exceptional

It slips by like a sickness

while we binge watch the bully called Hollywood

while we smear another signature on a rented luxury

Who can ever just be when so many things say why?

The natural ability for adaptation leaves room for neglect

shrugged shoulders and disconnection

We fight for air in this crowded garden

metal florals with the concrete cloves

smiles fall and we feel the weight of full corners

A slow ride may reassemble a notion of purpose

tree smoke with a tree top tincture

Still

the speed demon decides the generation

It's all so hilarious
it's all so serious
It's all so human
