his sonnet lifts her head above the clouds
whilst his music fills her ears
his lyrics touch her heart
serenaded by his vows.

Exhale to release your woes
into my open arms
my soul beckons yours
to come out and play

your echoes have traveled miles

attempt to curl a smile

Fall moon, hung low
over your September sky
to bring forth the hazel tint of your eyes.

Soft, smooth petals
dry out and fall
texture turns to paper

but matter is energy,
