Magician's Birds
Monica Reilly Apr 2014
Magician's cloak let go,
And o'er sky they sang,
Their deafening call did ring
The birds flew as the leaves fell
and the leaves blew like the birds flying-
Nobody knowing where they came from and are going.
The outcry pierced the sky,
All species flocked as one
Prepared for storm to come
And they will not succumb!
I wrote this long ago after a strange experience of walking among hundreds of grounded birds for hours so in a way it's real.
