April , summer chased me
May, you came to stay
June, July adored me
August you went away
The soft padding of my running feet,
Rhythmically ran at a hypnotic beat.
My legs moved smoothly, forward and back
Propelling me faster, across the race track.

A quick glance behind showed that I was in lead,
While the rest of the group tried to quicken their speed.
I focused my run, tried to steady my pace,
I’d a long ways to go, had a long run to race.

When all of a sudden I spotted near my side,
A quick paced runner, with a long-legged stride.
He smiled at me like he’d already won,
Yet he looked really happy, like this was great fun!

I smoldered inside cause I had to win,
Not some dumb idiot with a stupid looking grin!
I ran ever faster and soon was ahead,
Yet the long-legged runner just laughed and then sped.
And once again he was in lead of the group,
My body felt exhausted and I started to droop.

This wasn’t fair; I had to get past him!
Though my lungs were burning and my eyesight was dim.
I barely even noticed when he ran o’er the line,
To win the race, which should have been mine.

I realized with a start as I gasped for air,
That though he’d won the race I didn’t even care.
What mattered was that the race had been fun,
And now it was over, now it was done.

The thought made me smile put a laugh to my lips,
While I opened my water container and took a few sips.
It wasn’t about competing; I didn’t care if he’d won,
All that really mattered was that I'd had fun!
This was one of the first poems I wrote, and I decided to put it up on the website! It's different than most of my poetry in that it's very light and comedic, although it does have a message in it! I hope you enjoy!

Nightlight is waiting, deadly quiet,
Waiting for you to see,
Nightlight is heavy, rich, aromatic,
And pulling you closer to me.

Bright points scattered on velvet sky,
Each one a burning star,
We see the same lights, you and I,
Whether we’re near or we’re far.

We’ll share Cassiopeia,
As she follows her path round,
Never getting closer, but never farther,
Round and round, in silent sound.

I love you

I love you more than you can know,
And more than you can see,
I love you more than I could hope
to have someone love me.

I'll love you when you're sick and weak,
And love you when you're strong,
I'll love you through our arguements,
if you're right, or if I'm wrong.

I'll love you through the lace of time,
Until we're old, until we're grey,
I'll love you always, more and more,
With every passing day.

I'll love you in our times of plenty,
and in our times of need,
I'll love you when I have to serve,
And I'll love when I can lead.

I love you more than life itself,
More than water, more than breath,
and whether I go first, or you,
I'll love you into death.

I love you more than the word love,
ever could define,
I'll love you through whatever comes,
I love you and you're mine,

I love you with a burning love,
that fills me through and through,
I can never say these words enough,
for truly, I Love You.
Flick of the wrist
Let your life
Sneak from your
Veins
Streaming into
Night
Dreams are dying
Everyone's lying
About the end
When eyelids flutter
And
Lungs collapse
With a gentle swoosh
All you have
Are starry skies
In the tranquility of red
In the bareness of white
