Power

Power can be like a poisonous snake
slithering into your garden
from which the fruits of your labor have blossomed
your dedication like rays of sunlight nourishes
your growth.

But the poison is strong
the temptation to seize control
of that which will eventually control you
the thirst for power is like an overpowering addiction
ever growing stronger
from which you can not break free,
those shackles that weigh you down
are the only things
holding onto your sanity.

So I say this
never lose sight of your true purpose
stay true to your life goal
but do not succumb
to the poison
that taints
your garden.
