Going to bed thinking of you will leave me a very sad mornings' wake,
Allowing me to do none other than contemplate my mistakes,
Leave alone my heart and my mind,
Walk away without looking back,
Fast forward in time

Separately we walk,
Parting ways with each step,
Allow our paths to never cross again in depth

A future without you,
A future without the boy who,
Put himself first after getting what he wanted,
Leaving a heart alone, cold, and knotted

Beauty is created and never abolished,
But only if those who seek it choose to remain honest

A blue sneaker and a red scarf,
Given to a cold stone box and a shelf rather dark,
Never getting back to the bad old memories

She walks away with confidence on her way to feel free,
Wanting you to know at the end of the day,
With or without you,
She'll be okay

Never again can I breathe,
Knowing that you've fallen for me,
The years that you've shown,
The pain that you've known,
And for what?

For I and them and everyone else,
But what about you?
One so lost and lonely,
Now bothered by others around her,
But still she says nothing,
Nothing worth the wait,

Nothing all the while now has grown,
Into such pain behind the shadows,
The shadows of her crooked smile,
And still there remains nothing,
Nothing improved; only improvised,

Open your eyes…
