Brick by Brick,
I lay them down
All the pieces;
Pieced together with mortar
of Broken dreams.

Stone by Stone,
I'll build this wall
Reinforced;
With all the heartaches
And all the mistakes.
Michelle Jordan Apr 2012
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
( And I built my wall supported on you)
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
( You let my wall tumble)
All the kings men and all the kings horses
(At least Humpty Dumpty has people running to put him together again)
Couldn't put Humpty Dumpty back together again
( Like Humpty, I don't think I can be fixed)

You put yourself
Above the world
To prove that you're important

But you see not
That a pedestal built
On shifting sands
Will only fall down, around you

How blind you are
To the light of life
Seeing only, the light IN your life

Drama Queen, my dear
Why can't you seem to see
You are not above the rest

You're pedestal built on shifting sands
Is built upon the same sands;
Shifting in all our lives

Relinquish your crown
Stand amongst the rest of us
Look through the grains of sand
You are no different

Deep, unending pools of tenderness
Clouded, by the confusion of untended emotion
And swirling thought,
Windows into his soul,
Betraying what lies beneath;
the still surface of our lives
At times, orbs of embracing warmth
Flowing forth, with clarity
Sometimes, as cold as ice
Trapped; within a vice of chilling fears
Frozen there, I see the tears, begging for release.
I can see you on the other side
of these frozen walls of your own design,
Staring through those clear, unending pools
I lose myself, trying to find
The meaning behind, the feelings that I know are there
Only hidden; behind those clear and caring eyes
And now I find, that I just can't survive,
Unless I see myself reflected there
In the caring, unending pools of your eyes.
If you read this dear, I'm sure that you can tell that it's about you. I could stare into your eyes for an eternity and find myself wishing that time would stop just so I could spend an eternity reflected in your deep brown eyes.

Lost in the darkness of my night
I have long since lost sight
Of that warm and distant light
That some call love.
With broken heart and broken limbs
I'll be stranded in the cold;
Cold dark and freeze
Let the memory of my face be lost amongst a whispering breeze
For I am nothing but dust.

Just let me be, a faded memory
Forever lost in the time frame of a forgotten thought
Like writing etched upon the sand
Of a mind and heart that changes with the tides
That pull and pull
Between you and I

Your heart sings to a melody
That constantly changes key
And my heart and mind, just can't catch up
Our chords once aligned in harmony
Now shrouded
In eerie dissonance

We all fall down sometimes
And need to be,
Picked back up

All it takes, is a reaching hand,
Arms outstretched
To break the fall.

But no one's there
To catch my fall
So, I'll just keep

Falling Down

In the dark
Beneath the shadows of my own heart
I'll hide behind myself.

Under the dark new moon
The princess waits within her tower
But, no one is coming.

The princess nothing more
Than an unruly, best forgotten
Maid.

The incomplete fairytale
Just waiting for its happy ending
An ending never coming.

Locked away in the tower; tall
She'll hide away, within the darkness of hopelessness
Residing in her heart.

No prince will ever be in sight
So blinded is she
With her own tears.

Every waking moment,
Of every day I wake
I want to spend with you, my love

Your love is like a drug,
That I just can't put away.
The high I feel when close to you
Like floating on the clouds above.
Your gentle touch; electricity
Coursing through my skin.
Hot breath on my neck and face,
I'm melting within.

Such feelings, I surrender
I'm falling deeper and deeper
Intoxication, can't breathe, can't stand.
Hands reach for me as I fall,
Bringing me up to meet your lips
Soft and tender, comprised of so much passion.

Whispered words within my ear
Sweetly sugared, promises
Caught up in this drug
Lost amongst, Intoxication
Trusting all the while.

Don't let go, I beg of you
Hold me here and now
Lost amongst the clouds,
Lost in comfort; in your arms.

Don't let go I beg of you,
Don't leave me high and dry,
These intoxicating feelings,
I do not wish to pass.

Don't let go, I beg
Hold me till we die,
To die intoxicated in your love

Looking up at you I see,
Reflected in your eyes
A love s true I cannot bear to leave
Intoxicated in your love I'll stay
As long as you're intoxicating me.

I'm just a number on your list
Just some addition that you can brag about
No second glances or second chances
Just a number....
No more a person with a name
When reduced to double digits
No emotions nor humanity
When labled with a number
I lose my face
Forgotten; with the next addition

The darkness, encompassing
Is darkest before the dawn
Resisting light of change
Lost within the embrace of routine
That has been nothing more
Than ball and chain
Sinking and sinking
Beneath the ebbing wave
Into a world of silence
In the glow of an eerie light
A world so different from our own
With a color all its own
Shrouded in hazey grays and deeper blues
Deeper and deeper where only black remains
Below the surface
Lost, in darkness awaiting its dawn
A dawn forever in its coming
But a sun must rise
And banish the encompassing darkness,
Surrounding me

No matter how hard we try,
Our lines of fate have become entwined.
It doesn't matter how far we run,
Or where we hide

We just can't stay away.

Despite the pain; the mistakes
We just can't get enough
The threads of fate; tangled
Between you and I.

People lie and People cheat
They'll leave without a warning,
It's a lesson we all must learn.

I've been their; twice
Just this year.

And why, I keep returning
To this life, the only one I know.
Michelle Jordan Mar 2012
Don't want to let go this time
I'm going to hold on tight
Our knot unraveled; twice
I found myself in vice

I swear, I won't let go
From this raft that keeps me up
My head above the crowding waves
Threatening; to go under

I'm afraid to let go,
To let go of this hope
That keeps my spirits
High;  afraid to let hope die

I love you more than words can tell
But lately, words escape me.

From the fathoms of my heart and soul,
My love for you, abounds.

But even love, stated, in simple terms,
Your response is not forthcoming
Like the life giving rivers
Waters stemmed, I thirst for just one drop.

What a pity, to keep all your waters dammed
That gardens whiter, and gardens die.

So my soul is, without your love
A struggling flower, to survive.

In a dry and barren landscape
Where my seed of love was sown,
Once, your nourishing waters had flown.

From time to time, they did trickle,
Giving hope to heart and soul
Just to survive a little longer,
In a garden of sand and stone.

Love does not exist
For love has been
The death of me

I ripped out my heart
And in your hand
It did bleed

Love is only a lie,
Of a hope
Forever out of reach
Michelle Jordan Mar 2012
In the beginning, I did sing
All the pleasures and sorrows of the world.
In my comfort do ye reside,
In my company do ye pleasures tide.
I am Music,
Whose language all can bear,
In understanding, all can hear.
I transcend all other Graces
Through thou heart and through thou soul.
I speak the languages of love; of passion; of grief; of pain.
Wherever thou shall find thee
There shalt thee, find me
For I am Music
Michelle Jordan Mar 2012
I love thee more than words can tell
All the eloquence of the world,
Does Fail.
The beauty of a thousand words, pales
In comparison, to the love we share.

All the colors of this world
Cannot paint, the vision of my love for thee,
Colors fade, loses splendor in its age,
But the colors of my love for thee
Never fading, ever gleams.

My sweet Lady Sea, how she calls to me (a)
The Hurricane’s wind batters my white sails (b)
My heart locked away with her golden key (a)
Battered and broken by wind my will fails (b)
Through forbidden seas, I am lost adrift (c)
Carried by the currant of a love; shared (d)
Heart of mine, torn asunder with a rift (c)
I leave it open, all thoughts of mine bared (d)
As I lay aboard my raft, I now know (e)
That in the darkness of my heart I thrive (f)
To see the sunset in the west aglow (e)
My sweet and gracious Sea, I will survive (f)
The captain’s heart forever raging mad (g)
With the thought of she so ******* clad (g)

It's the same old game
Were we seem to run around in circles
You start just fine
And run the race strong; confident
But your strength weakens
And confidence fades...
So we fall behind...again
Our paths diverge so far apart
The fear sets in of losing the other
So we begin the race again
And already, you are slowing down...
Michelle Jordan Mar 2012
Rooted; Just standing there
The impossible, immovable
Tree.
With your roots so deep,
Branches so high
Forever reaching and reaching
For the sky.
Trembling fingers lost of leaves,
Tracing the phantoms of dreams.
Michelle Jordan Mar 2012
One can stand strong
For just so long
Eventually, even mountains will fall.
All things in time...
Must come to their end.
And words will be, forever silent; silenced
By the world.
Michelle Jordan Mar 2012
A reaching hand
That goes un-noticed
A conversation, left lingering in the air;
Between us...

All that is there,
A faint light within the dark
Wavering, just before being swallowed;
Can't you see me...

I am waiting
Just beyond, the walls
Erected to protect
Against me?
Michelle Jordan Mar 2012
Walls.
We all have them,
We all ***** them,
And they all come tumbling down.

Walls,
Are built of love.
Walls,
Are built of pain.
Walls,
They are built to protect us.

Walls,
They keep me
From reaching you,
Hidden behind the other side.

Walls!
How I wish
That yours would topple,
So I can reach you.

Walls!
Between us
Walls!
Around us
Walls!
They are killing me.
