As if the world is falling apart
oh somebody struck this
dagger into my heart

Spilling out all that there has been
and all that never was
somebody just shook me
can't let this pain pass

Another one tomorrow
might break me in two
but I want to live once
before I go.

Final countdown may
keep us apart
I have heard in that world
there is always a start.

Sitting on their thrones,
they celebrate
Those victories and wins
piercing me as a pin.
Singing those songs
They celebrate
which herald the achievements
and the win of rights
over wrongs
They celebrate.

I looked outside
the window and myself
and found none
Never has been silence
like this one
There was still time
for my dawn to come
tunes of the victory
I just could not hum.

I had a goal
and I lived with it
walking along the unbeaten path
trying to get those circles in cubes, fit.
Perspiration paying off
when mind left off
I went alone to the forests
looking to bury my gaffe.

Yes, I will keep walking
until I get there
until I succeed
until hard work pays off
and celebrations start
There is still time
no time to halt
Before

I celebrate.
Turmoil of not being worthy of life.

Sunlight, seeps in
Through their dead fortunes
And renewed loathing
For the world and its ways

From across the street
Screams, fresh from children
Blaring into the lifeless souls
Waking up the least of ghouls

Trapped in them
Lies an abundant world
Of money and power
Diamonds are their only flowers

Trapped in their longings
Overlooking reality
And rewriting destiny
They stay asleep
It's siesta of ignorance

The hour of wisdom
Unwelcome
For the unease it brings
Rises with the sun
And sets in the dark
Right before the day breaks
The hope.

Entwined in you,
My palm breathes a life
of its own
Stuck in the moment
Seeds get sown
of love and togetherness
Entangling our souls.

Far away from the maddening crowd
My fingers move and the hands dance
on the tunes of my head
and the song of my heart

Inking words and weaving tales
Stories end, people take birth
and then they die without a trail

Far away from the maddening crowd
My fingers move and the hands dance
From this name and from that moment
come out fables of wars and heroes
of might and love torn between the states
of heart and kingdoms of the commons and the greats.

Most dearest to me
is the tale of me and you
Reading all that I want to express
Keeping it hidden in the recesses of your heart and
yet making it true.

Falling for you
Was the hardest I ever fell
Feeling for you
The way I do
is the sweetest I’ve ever felt

As I end this tale
you start anew
for once in a day
I will listen to you

Tell me all that you know
and all that you don’t
Far from the maddening crowd
I weave a tale, between me and you.
When I fell in love with the reader.

For every day
She closed her eyes
Deciphered the realm beyond
Far away lay a tale
Of her man
Vignettes of the bond.

Tryst of the destiny
Brought kingdoms together
And souls of love depart
With one show of hand
Truth poured out of heart.

So much for love
Of power and influence
So much for desire
Of happiness and prosperity
Looking for overpowering winter
That she had learned to hate
She settled for the summer.
Tea
Mayank Jain Feb 2014
Tea
On the intersection
of destinies and roads
Sits a man with his kettle
Cups are his weapon
Tool of digging wisdom
Every stir in his tea
Goes deeper than he perceived
Souls get elixir and they
Of wins, losses and battle
They lost in their shining armor.

Far from the ways of this world
He sits and watches it go by
And then come around
Like everyday
Yet peculiar in its way

There comes a time
His constant vigil goes away
As he walks back
To look for a home for the night
The road took care of him
He served it with his tea
Appreciating graciously
His mother had told him one night
That he will grow up to be a knight.

Unaware of what she feared
she marched ahead running away
Never before she knew her fear
was enough to give her chills, though

Middle of the night
Wakes up fearful
of nothing but herself
Shadow follows her through the steps

The way out is too far from the sight
Time before the dawn
Too scared to look back
She stamps her feet
As if to break the stairs
And escape into another hell
May or may not be worse
She chooses between the unknowns.

Its is herself whom she fights
among her rights and wrongs
she runs from the one to another
Seeking salvation or
freedom songs

A piece of momentary freedom
That’s all she desires
No time to even **** herself
Her dark side conspires.

The steps don’t seem to end
Round wells of darkness
she wanted to escape
growling, in her mind
full of rage
loathing her golden cage.
This happened as a result of an imagery described by a friend of her dreams about a never ending staircase. Goes to her.

I can be sun, fire
Moon and light.
Calm and shiny
Happy and bright

Right before your eyes
I will change the world for you.
All the things you dream of
Will surely come true

When we both get together
And we live the time of our lives,
the time of our lives.

Am on the verge of it,
just behind the darkness
far ahead of the truth of my being
I lie here, alone.

Unlikeliness surrounds the soul
as I wake up
to see the light
that shines bright
into my eyes..
telling some lies.

Gazing around,
I try to find..
Those unknown faces,
A regretful smile..
illusion of the reality..
collusion of dreams..
Life is no more,
But light from beams..

I am entrapped.
in a small dark box
or free in an infinite world?
