It slips by slow, soft as silk,
Languid day of laziness.

Solar heat,
Toasty as scorched sand-bed,
Caresses skin.

Sun's kiss cools,
Under ethereal finger-strokes,
Wafting by.

Like cats, curled careless,
Swinging slowly in breeze's breath,
Savoring freedom.

Worry-less, content,
Time trickles on by.

Bleeding mortal red
Between bandages of cloud
The day veils its last.

Hours pass like broken promises, Regret born in the aftermath.

Shadows walk through dreams alone,                           Their casters gone,
'Tween buildings of skin and bone,                                 Tearless, we mourn,
Forgotten monsters stalk above,                                     The lost give up,
In monotone she cries "I love..."                                       Everything stop.

Falling.
No thoughts intrude
The day repeats
Eternity ends
And I complain.
Leaving hurts
Original.
Tick-tock
Time turns cloak.
Loathsome love
Trust betrayed.
I believe in
Happy endings.
Music soothes,
Don't forget
You ****.
Yawn and die
Goodbye.

The waves lap around my ankles as my toes curl into the soft, squishy mud,
The sun sinks below the horizon, its golden pathway disappearing,
And it slips away, into its illuminated palace.
Pink clouds light the way home.
This is an old poem I wrote about an ocean sunset looking out from my mudflat beach.
