From the corner of thy eye
Mahnoor Fatima Feb 2015
That devil-may-care attitude,
The way you roll your eyes,
That kaleidoscopic rejectivity,
That laughter based on lies.
I knew I should've despaired,
Absolutely worthless was my stance,
For many a time have I spied,
Yet not a single, yearned for glance.
Is all humanity as cruel?
Has love evaporated?
I thought we were passers-by,
But one for the other waited.
In desolation do I dwell,
Given up trusting my unfaithful kind,
Ashamed, I see alligator tears,
Leaving me behind,
Leaving me behind.
