You have made my motel
a place where no one must stay
Suddenly a blazing summer noon
turns into a could beating winter.
You found your way back inside my walls
The smoke from your lungs turn into ghosts
who haunt me night after night.
Spelling your name out in the blood
I wished was mine.
Your voice lingers into the other rooms
I figured you had company over soon.
You paid for 24 hours but only stayed for three.
I was beginning to think that my building
wasn't to neat for you, for me.
Milk stained all over my bed sheets
you treated your addiction with love
but looked at everyone else like burned out lungs.
I spilled a piece of my kindness onto you
believing your heart will be restored
But your monsters wouldn't let me go.
I screamed for you,
"don't let them take over my soul"
No answer, Not one voice at all.
I think you knew of the evil that crept upon you
Somewhere beneath your spilled milk
Your creatures were oh so sacred
never allowing you to seek for greatness.
A part of me has left with you
but until you see the truth
I'll sit here patiently waiting
to be invited back into my motel
that you claimed as your safe haven.
