I still can’t look at our photos.
Sometimes the past is best left behind.
You’ll always be a part of my heart,
But you are no longer a part in my life.

Under a file called, “Don’t_Touch”
You are kept and all of our memories.
I’ve never strayed towards there.
Life has more in store for me.

You were my end and my beginning.
It’s been so long since I’ve written about you.
Now it’s not about you anymore.
It’s about me.

I think I’ll miss you forever.
But time heals all wounds,
And a year has healed mine.
A year has taught me more than you ever will.

You are like the supernova
that threw a shockwave to my heart.
You started something.
But just like a wave, you left too.
You left me to become something beautiful.
Now I am. Thank you.

If only you’d stop treating me like a stranger
when the wave comes back around.
We were not a mistake.
And if that’s how you see it,
