I Want To Be With You
M G Stankovich Aug 2011
I want to be with you,
You who takes the image of my dreams
And smashes her to pieces
Like a window once used to hold me at bay.

I want to see with you,
You who brings light to the dull and dark
opening the eyes of the world
To the simple beauty all within it's reach.

I want to feel with you,
You who gives warmth on the coldest of days
To a thoughtless soul
Who deserves not, what it is you give.

And I want to be with you,
You who has found my long lost heart
Forgotten and hidden,
You bring it warmth in the light of your Heart.

Questions for a Stranger
M G Stankovich Mar 2011
Who are you?
This Stranger before me.
Who draws my gaze
With your endless grace

How can you haunt?
The dreams of my days,
Exciting illusions
With every new thought.

Why do you take?
Every breath I would breathe,
Without saying a word
Without being with me.

Where will you go?
When I'm yet to lose sight
Of  the person I long for
Of you whom I seek

Quiet Sky
M G Stankovich Mar 2011
As I pass through the clouds
Falling faster to the ground

I hear the quiet of the sky
And the noisy world where I will die

My thoughts turn to the things I've done
And the dream my life has yet to become

Fear then passes through my mind
And I think of people and places gone

But as my journey nears its end
I remember words and dreams I've left

I feel at peace in this quiet sky
And know that this is not good bye.

The Rain
M G Stankovich Mar 2011
I love the rain.
Flowing from the heavens,
Cleansing the world
Of its imperfect glow.

I love the rain.
As its darkened clouds
Scares away the blind,
allowing beauty to flow.

I love the rain.
Since the world seems to stop
And truly see peace,
For a moment or so.

Thoughts on a Winter Nights
M G Stankovich Feb 2011
I love the quiet,
Of these cold
Lonesome nights.
The darkened world
Left sleeping in warmth and peace.

I love these thoughts,
That ravish my mind:
Like a fire without warmth,
As I listen to the silence.

I love the sight,
Of the snow covered hills,
and the forests, and fields.
Frozen under their white blankets
Awaiting the warmth of a forgotten sun.

I love the peace,
Of this colourless world,
Cold and Hated,
But beautiful all the same.

And I love the Quiet,
Of these cold winter nights,
Where the warmth that you bring
Is all that I need.

The Best
M G Stankovich Feb 2011
The best lines I have ever written
Come when there is nothing to write with
And no where to put them

The best words I have ever imagined
Come with my dreams
And vanish along with them

The best thoughts I have ever created
Come with your smile
And stay with your kiss

The best moments I will always remember
Come with the nights
When my arms held my dreams

Romance is dead
M G Stankovich Feb 2011
Romance is gone,
It's long since been dead

While chivalry,
Good nature
Are left for the odd and strange

Every woman longs for her prince
For her armour clad saviour

But all she will find
Are those who will never romance her

I'm Not Ashamed
M G Stankovich Feb 2011
I’m not ashamed about last night
Nor what was done in the dark of night

I’m not ashamed of you my love
Or the passion felt between us both

I’m not ashamed of who we were
Or who it is we have become

And if it was but for a night,
I’m happy that it happened

Love at a Glance
M G Stankovich Feb 2011
There you stand before me
Across the vast ocean of my mind

I long for your touch
For your taste on my lips

Eyes meet (Just for a second)
But I see only the ground

Heart racing
My eyes hunt for yours

To show you feeling
In the fleeting glances we share

I wish to hear your voice
Feel you warm and safe in my arms

But alas you have gone
Disappeared from my gaze

As you fade
Forever gone from my mind

I'm left with nothing
Not even a name...

Mirror
M G Stankovich Feb 2011
A Mirror will show but the deepest of dreams
And make light of the days that once made you grieve
For a woman once loved
Is suddenly free
When lefts become rights
And a ring has no means
So remember a mirror can make light of your day
But always remember the girl with no name.
First poem. Not to sure about it.
