Armed by the limitless power of our youth,
We dove, fearlessly, into the icy ocean.
Black mascara ran down young faces,
And brushed, straightened hair warped into
Messy, sticky locks.
we laughed so hard, we swallowed gulps of water, sour and salty.
Words were exchanged, but not understood.
I think we were too young to understand.
Open to criticism and advice. Work in progress

The age of innocence is dead
And that of cruelty is born
So, with souls bleeding
And hearts aching
The girls cry
And the boys laugh.
Another generation of hearts
Is broken beyond repair.

When the radio blasts your favorite song
while you're crammed in the back of your best friend's jeep
and as you turn the corner,
you find yourself being hurled in to the window next to you
because
somebody called out "Corners"
and everyone is following the rules of the game.
And now you're grinning and laughing from ear to ear,
with everyone else.
This is just another precious moment to be stored and forgotten
in your too-small-for-all-the-good-stuff memory.
