Treachery*

A stinging sensation
A sense of indignation
Oh the smell of treachery!

When those that you love
And those whom do hate
Clash and break tragically

Like glass slammed on rock
Or an egg smashed in its crate
Oh the smell of treachery!

It’s nothing to do with you
And nothing to deal with me
Yet we’re here inevitably

The betrayal, the lies
No one wants to compromise
Oh the smell of treachery!

Two faces lodged in one
But one pops out a gun
And ends the ordeal fatally

Say it takes two to fight
Yet not one willing to lose
Oh the smell of treachery!

Point fingers at everyone
And you say do what you preach
All I can say is to that is: pure hypocrisy
Oh the smell of treachery!
So much on the news about hate among people who are friends, related and neighbors unfortunately marks our "modern" society. Things that we should have moved away from are still things that we struggle with today, Mark Twain was right in writing that even animals know better (The ****** Human Race- it's a good read, very sad truth tied to it).
