It smells like you flayed a chestnut tree
and roasted its children
with its own flesh
on a cold winter mourning

The scent of charred skin
and toasted offspring
brings about the small demons
who crush the tiny bones
with their ***** claws
and feast on the infants
sliding down their filthy gullets

Its so cold that all the monsters
strip the cotton bare
and leave them to shiver
so that their plunder
of soft tuft
may be mashed
left out to thirst
and twisted
into a pretty new hide
for the little monsters

When their hot breath
caresses the cold air
poison
is pushed down the throat of plants and trees,
when they wake
they drown
and when they sleep
they freeze
and the little monsters in the yard
rip off their branches
to play a silly game
where the beasts die laughing
and the leaves
wilt and die

Slowly its breath pushes worlds
Taste its raw power

A Night to Forget
LT Sylvest Oct 2011
Old friends greet each other
and after weeks of control
my defenses crumble
the cancer is handed to me and
INHALE
...
EXHALE
As we talk of the past
my mind begins to drift
the lanes start to shift
and I appreciate the gift
OF CHANGE

But there is one among us
who is not accustomed
to our
AIR
To her the taste is off
the consistency, all wrong
and she is unable to
COPE
I mention a symptom
and she has it
someone speaks of sickness
she is the sickest
she begins to shiver
and shake
eyes roll back
and I have seen death
.....
....
...
..
.
BUT SHE BREATHS
and so do I...

Letter for a Loved One

Empty space
Gives shape
To everything
And nothing

But emptiness
Within
Is the beginning
Of sin

You were no lamb
I no Shepard
But with your blood
My soul will be cleansed

Rest now and forget
This cruel, Godless world
Slip into the silence
And become one
With our Lord.

Getting Home
LT Sylvest Oct 2011
Black top
Clouded night
The wind is blowing
Guided by white lights
Rain is falling
Loss of life.

Through the waves
A note plays
And my vessel sways
Le Vent, Le Vent
It sprays and sprays
The light shines through in rays.

And rubber will cut
Through the flood
In its wake
Lies regret and love.
