Falling in love with you
was like falling under a spell.
You didn’t even trip me
but boy, I still fell.

They say love is not a game,
I say Cupid’s got good aim.
The things I feel, I always deny.
Hoping one day you tell me, “Please, don’t lie.”

A hundred things I like about you,
a million wishes I’d like to say.
It’ll all end with an “I love you.”
and maybe, just maybe, an “I feel the same way.

When I was five,
You taught me how to ride a bike.
You guard our ever wondrous hive
And I’m proud that we look alike.

When I was thirteen,
You told me not to fall for boys.
“Don’t worry, dad” I said.
But then I fell for a broken toy.

Now, I’m seventeen,
“You’re almost grown up, bud.” I heard.
But in my mind I always say,
“Dad, I’ll always be your little girl.”
