Not Tonight
Hey, little girl say what you mean
Leave me alone or come home with me
Give me a sign or tell me your name
I'm sick of lies and tired of games
My neck's in a noose I'm feeling the kick
The smoke in the air is making me sick
The dollar is down but hotels are cheap
So, leave me alone or come home with me

Give me your keys I'll give you my love
Take off your ring and I'll put on the glove
Turn off your lights it's so hard to
Read between the lines in between your sheets
You look in my eyes what do you need?
You ask my advice? 'do as you please'
The ending is near my ears start to ring
I keep telling myself this doesn't mean a thing.

But I cannot be alone with me tonight.
Not by myself
And I could not let you run away tonight
With anyone else
Not tonight

The tables have turned now I am all alone
What have I learned? Does anyone know?
I burned the bridge so I will take the fall
I wonder...
Will she answer? Will I even call?
Well..Yeah

Blue Tuesday
You are a black storm
A kind of storm forcing me to keep indoors
And stay in bed and draw the shades and drink while writing poetry
And just try to write poetry all day

Blue Tuesday you are more
Like the color of her door I think of often
The door I'll never see again with open eyes or hold the key to
You remind me of her door I'll never see again
The chief had a drank for twenty years or so
And stayed drunk enough to call the streets his home
He was working on a hand-held totem pole until
Boy blue looked his way

The drink and his style stayed clogged in his ear
Or maybe he was to drunk to notice or fear
That man with a gun raising hell
About his blade.

The chief kept walking, not knowing he should stop
And with a whisper of a warning that is as far as he got
Boy blue put four in his back my god
What a man.

'This doesn't reflect on the whole brigade'
But discipline and punishment, like magic, fade
They protect their own so Mr. Birk
Just hid away.

The lesson here is one of fear
One of panic and add the right to ****
Try your words before you send an old man
To his grave.

Corn Bags
The smell of corn bags will
Always remind me of you.
We would jog to seem modern or
Just tour around campus and city bridges driven by
Conversation and company until we were exhausted.
And we would come home and
You would warm you bag after making love or
To relax and read.

The smell of corn bags will
Always remind me of you because
You are not around anymore.
I found someone new
Someone modern.

Broken Girl
Broken Girl you gave your heart away
He never cared about your love
All the while your smile sings loud symphonies in my head
And your eyes would always be enough to keep me alive

Broken Girl you run to me, again, broken
He pushed his luck and he broke your heart and he left you alone
Stay with me. We'll both be okay crying
You can dry your eyes on me tonight
(It would get me through until the next time we are here. I am forever lost in bliss around you. I need another night to discover what it will take for you to know me. I love you forever.)

Broken Girl you have caught him out again
He finally saw the heartbreak in your eyes
He just smiles like he does and takes your hands
You decide to give him another try
(It would get you through until the next time. You're forever lost with him in your memories. You just need more time to show him and time to find the words and things to get you through.)

Broken Girl you ran to me yesterday
He's put a ring on your hand

— The End —
