I trembled as you drew near,
My breath caught in my throat,
I tried to tell myself you weren't ever going to love me.
The simplicity of me,
Compared to the complexness of you.
My heart echoed your name,
As my head shouted "Shut up idiot!"
But as you know,
The heart wants what it wants.
So I am loves fool again.

"Hello."
That was the first word we spoke.
And at that time, it was enough.

                         "I know right!"
When we agreed on something small,
We thought it was so big. It was enough.

                        "Are you OK?"
A slight sign of caring, at a time of when we rarely spoke.
           It was enough.

                       "He gets me, you know?"
         The words shattered my heart
But seeing you happy, it was enough.

"I'm so scared. I don't know what to do."      My anger at him, wasn't as strong as my care for you.
So when I held you close, it was enough.

                     "You....like me?"
Hope and fear mixed in your voice,
When I heard the hope, it was enough.

"I love you. I always have."
The words felt so natural, so right.
And so I hope for us, it is enough.

It froze me as I looked down to her,
Her cheeks still wet with tears.
She turned away and fear smiled.
"You let me in. Now it's my turn to run the show."
And so I ran with fear.

Would you love a girl,
With a smile that didn't reach her eyes,
And you could see how much pain that smile hides.
Would you love a girl,
That was quite to hide her problems,
And even though everybody would ask,
No one but you got them.
Would you love a girl,
Who had huge dreams,
And had an even bigger heart,
That nobody but you can see.
Would you love a girl,
Who's wrists held her scars,
And if you followed those down,
You'd see the same ones on her heart.
Would you love a girl,
Who has dreams about her wanting to die,
Would you love this girl?
And my question is, why?

As I was sitting alone one day, reality came upon me.
"Hello." I said and reality replied "Hello."
"Do you remember me?" It asked, sounding hopeful and desperate.
"I remember you were once here with me, but those days are gone. Now I'm blinded and alone."
"What could you be blinded by more than my harsh truth?"
I turned to reality and reality stared back at me. I uttered one simple word.
"Love."

Life is a play,
The simplicity of the metaphor emphasizes the truth.
Life is a play,
You're decisions can change the genre from Comedy to Tradegy, from Drama to Horror.
Life is a play,
The audience won't know you've tripped up if you do some quick improv.
Life is a play,
Behind the script and the act lies the real message,
Life is a play,
You can either embrace the part you play or whine and be miserable,
Life is a play,
Some people are going to like your character and some aren't but that doesn't change who your character is.
Life is a play,
So take a bow.

Please don't tell me that you can't,
I know you could if you tried.
Please don't tell me that you're not good enough,
I know how much you truly are worth.
Please don't tell me that you don't want to fail,
You know I'll be here to make sure you succeed.
Please don't tell me you're not strong,
I'll show you how much you've supported the weight of us.
Please don't tell me that I deserve better,
Because is the end, all I need is you.
