I'll Patiently Wait
Lis Jul 2012
All I can do is sit here by the seashore and wait.
Patiently listening for the ripples in the water.
Signaling your return home.

Falter
Lis Jul 2012
Like the restless leaves of Autumn
and the killing touch of Winter;
My love for you falters.

Backwards
Lis Jul 2012
Rain pours even when the sun is out and the wind is still
The moon shines in its dimmest glow when the sun beams hot and bright over the mountains above...
Cherry blossoms bloom in winter and fall in spring
The day is cold when the night is hot
But that won't stop me from seeing you.

Realize
Lis Jul 2012
I hope you realize soon enough
that I'm there for you no matter what,
good or bad.
If I could could count all the stars to tell how much I care for you
there wouldn't be enough.
I hope you realize
that I'm sorry
for not showing how I really feel
and for not being there when you need me most.
There's a time and place
where people and things eventually change,
though not everything changes
I wish that I would
change
because I'm scared that if I don't
I will never see your face again...

Two Kingdoms
Lis Jul 2012
The light upon the sun shines in the reflection of who we are...
We reflect against the waters
shining who and what we hide from reality
and the world...
Flowers flowing against the graceful waters of the Earth
imitate peace and competition
against two kingdoms that we forcefully share...

We'll Get Better
Lis Jul 2012
These noes are keeping us together
and making us better
because no matter what they say
it doesn't matter.
They might think us wrong,
but we know better,
we'll stand alone in this stormy weather
if it'll make them think any wiser.

Cliche
Lis Jul 2012
I'd like to think that we'd make it together,
that we'd be together,
but these odds seem to be greater
and getting bigger.
So, I don't think we can be together.
Maybe in the near future
when you're better,
and I'm stronger,
and when the world doesn't seem to be against us
being together
We can finally and safely be called as a beautiful couple,
and maybe not as a cliche,
we can finally live happily - ever - after.

Defeat is a victory
Tried but unsecured
Savored but destroyed
Clear the way and fight for what you believe
Courage is the best to conquer victory
Many are lost but not in vain
Men and women work together to
Fight for their country
With bullet proof bravery.
Lis Jun 2012
I’ll clear my head and count to three…
And hope my words come back to me…
I’d savor the moment,
If only I could…
I would freeze time and
Replay our world…
But reality is far from great
And now I still have nothing to say…
No words of thanks
No spoken words in mind
I’ve lost my last chance to say goodbye
To the only dad there ever was.
Lis Jun 2012
Enclosed in a timid space
Reality seeps in through the cracks…
The gates close and all she can see are stars…
Caged like a bird, but free to fly…
Searching for that sparkle of hope
Waiting for that rising sky…
Stars shine bright even in the day time…
T’was the same bright star as herself
The world once lost is now a new one harmoniously recognized.

The Present
Lis Jun 2012
If the world came crumbling down tonight and every single person disappeared without a trace
Would you fight to stay by my side
Or say, “**** it, Goodbye”?
Can I trust you to keep me safe if you decide to stay by my side?
Can you truly fight the facts and not leave me standing alone here in this crumbling city with no heart to keep me company?
Can I trust you to keep trusting me?
Can I trust you to keep your promise?
How long will this last, I think
How long do you think we’ll last?
What about on this planet?
In reality,
Can we even make it?
Every day the sun comes and goes by
Just like the moon sticks around to replace the sun’s absent light
Every day I get older and get weaker
I need my body to keep up with this new life of ours and this pathetic weather
But I know someday one of us will be left behind
Like we were never even there to begin with
But I say, “**** it, I’m gonna try to make the best out of this and make a living out of the ‘now,’ before it truly hits me in the future.”

Cherish
Lis Jun 2012
Rain softly beating on my window pane
Like a gardener watering her flower pane
She cares
Like a mother protectively cradling her daughter proudly
She loves
Like a dream slowly consuming reality
She relieves
The night that snoozes us to sleep
The light that brightens our every morning
My heart still rhyme’s with mom’s heartbeat
Drumming like a drum beat
And my brain still thinks
For the day that is to be my future
The next day
She gave me a present that will never be forgotten
As I cherish it, it will never perish
Till the day I go to heaven
Mom's love lives within
Me.
