Inside
Lindsey Wells Dec 2013
We are empty souls
Heaving
Breathing
Believing
That something better exists
If not on this earth
Then in our hearts
Clawing our skin
Trying to get in
To release
This beauty we hold inside ourselves
It’s there
Isn’t it?
A fresh start, a new day
All that stands between
Is a flimsy piece of skin
Withholding all our sins

His Hands
Lindsey Wells Feb 2013
his hands

soft with a light touch
dancing across me
with a purpose
all of my thoughts disappear
its just him and i
nothing else matters

but his hands

brown and smooth
weightless against me
gliding everywhere
swimming through my skin
in
and
out
gentle with determination
with the lights down
and everyone so close
eyes shut and whispers
dangerous passion
nothing matters

except his hands

One Year Ago
Lindsey Wells Dec 2012
You know those nights that everything goes wrong
When the break of daylight seems to move on
When you speak words that destroy another
And feel like a child that lost her mother
You ******* the world over, and it's him you miss
But now your scared, those lips you won't kiss
He stole your heart from the very first day
Now in his heart shows where your future lays
Your mind is complicated and confused
Because you were his girl, his muse
But you hurt him with a stupid reason
Now time won't pass another season
It's time to wait, feeling like your in his choke
While he thinks about those words you spoke
You were up all night, no sleep just tears
It's exactly this thing that you feared

Enjoying life

Heros and Powers
Lindsey Wells Oct 2012
I feel like
A superhero
Even though
I haven't done much
I have
The superpower of invisibility
I help others
By disappearing
From their lives

Last Breath
Lindsey Wells Oct 2012
The tubes to my lungs are closing
Its like
A noose
Tied around my vocal chords
And inside my blood.
Its suffocating
All the words
And air
From escaping
My heart.

Under Your Wing
Lindsey Wells Oct 2012
for life is a jungle
and to live
we should wish with
unknown definitions
and see in color
with invisible ink.
because
to be a bird
is to not follow
where another desires
but to take another
under your wing
when reality looks
bad.

Pain
Lindsey Wells Oct 2012
Go ahead and shut the bathroom door
Nobody's around to help you fight this war
You close your eyes as you begin to feel weak
The sting, so painful, bite the inside of your cheek
Let the red water fall out of the veins in your arm
As you lay on the floor covered in self harm

At the playground
Lindsey Wells Oct 2012
A little after midnight
And a smoky room of music
Star watching
And quiet laughter
You held me
Kept me near
With your breath
And black jacket
Top of the slide
Hiding from the others
Silent whispers
And warm words

I realized that night
That I would always love you

Come Back Home
Lindsey Wells Oct 2012
I can still feel your breath in my bedsheets
Rising and falling
Like you never left my side
I can still feel your skin on my hardwood floors
Melted into every crack
Your scent is on all of my clothes
and your taste infused in all of my food
I can still feel you here,
even though you left long ago.

The pain

Its time

Autumn Dreams
Lindsey Wells Oct 2012
I'm dreaming
of cigarettes and Polaroid pictures
Late Autumn nights with light through the trees
and a calm breeze
A daydream it is
but I'm begging please
Bring truth to my dreams

Empty
Lindsey Wells Oct 2012
Cold to the touch
Nothing pumping through veins
A ghost with feet
Covered in humans clothes
Sunken eyes
Imaginary breath
A soulless existence
Frigidly numb
Holding a shriveled heart
Unable to see real life

She is a dead girl walking

I am a dead girl walking

Mute
Lindsey Wells Oct 2012
I tried to talk
Out came no sound
You closed off your ears
I cant be heard
Mute
Its okay
It was pointless anyways
Why would someone dare to listen?

All those pretty girls with their
tears and dreams and fears,
looking for a meaning that is yet to exist.
The dead glare in their eyes,
so clear and wide,
emotionally vacant inside
shows the pain they subside.
And in that moment you can tell when one is completely broken.

I dont mean a little bit of issues
I mean
the way they talk
the way they walk
the way they live
is ultimately shattered through this utter dispair in which consumes them.

Everyday
Lindsey Wells Oct 2012
4 pills to wake up

Hourglass
Lindsey Wells Oct 2012
An hourglass
Sharp, but smooth
Used
And abused
Perfect porcelain
Flawless

But fragile

Quick to shatter
Just a few feet off the ground
Running low
Falling down
Flip it over
And everything's alright
Fine

Still fragile

But it'll be okay.
