Following the Firefly
Lily Carmilla Sep 20
Following the firefly, you’ll surely lose your way /
Her humble light becoming the sun in your day

Honeysuckle sweet, leaves a craving for the taste /
Her weaving goes unnoticed, until it is too late

The Paradox
Lily Carmilla Sep 19
My heart has never known this hunger /
She danced like sunlight on the water

Truth is / Time goes / Slower in the maze
Minutes / Drag on / Start to feel like days

I’ve been here before / Just beyond the door /There the paradox / The fear to want for more

Southwestern Strange
Lily Carmilla Sep 19
Drinking in the desert at night /
Hot wind’s blowing, so I know that change is nigh, like /
Lightning arcing on the horizon /
Or summer rain, sent straight down from heaven

It was something I never felt /
Seeing through dreaming into hell itself / Cosmic static on the TV at the motel /
Naked with a stranger, but he knows your body well

The fluorescents spoke of secrets /
Buzzing like long dead insects /
Morse flickering in silent witness /
To passion, violence, clandestine *** /
Who could fathom what comes next /
Though the road signs sigh of prophesized apocalypse

— The End —
