sydney sweeps a soothing squalor

i haven’t had, i haven’t called her.

and the dogs have words to keep

i cannot say, i will not sleep

all the kids go off to bed

i’ve only bruises, only bread

though i’ll find a friend one day

and come to cry and come to play.
