Lost in Translation
Lacy A Bradberry May 2013
Lost in translation
I can’t find the sound
Of children playing
Or birds flying about
Tried changing the station
Submerged, and not yet found
In the depths of dreams forming,
Swimming against the current like river trout
I’d longed for the motivation
To be an ace on the mound
My opponents trembling
At my glare so stout
All in one motion
Fear in the foreground
They all strike out swinging
Then run from the fallout
Finally my consummation!
I hear children on the playground
And the song birds singing
Their melodies so devout
Alas, triumphant over this nihilistic asphyxiation
A feeling so profound
There are no words for describing
The beauty of sight after a blackout

— The End —
