For whom
Do we dress
To impress
The haves or have nots
Is the weight
Of success
Measured by
A tailor
Scrolling Zara
Models and their
Blank expressions
What is on their mind
To pay off a debt
To fill a void
Be beauty moguls
Or remain unfazed
Superficial poses
Manufactured,
Copied and followed
Likes and heart emojis
Influencers
Flexing the drip
Blurring authenticity
A stigma emerges
With a hunger for
Validation
Euphoria
Power
Wading through
A sea of fabric
Until something
Fits the description
The fitting room mirror
Speaks otherwise
Fairest of all
Insecurities
Look beyond...
Interrupted with
“Do you need help
With sizing?”
Hardly,
It’s greater
Than she’ll
Ever know
True happiness within, staying true to self versus temporary happiness in a world of overconsumption, greed and waste.

Is it a crime
To not see
Eye to eye

Those rattled by change
Their comfort zones
Compromised

Each to their own
Whittled down
Vapid and sterile

Shameful
Ignorance kept
In the dark

Solely relying on
Dystopian ideals
Adamant, Unmoved

Entitled as though
The only life
In the universe
Sad to see hate and injustice spread like a virus.

Is there something
In a diamond
That’s worth its
Weight in gold
Have we succumbed to
Robotic pursuits,
Enslaved to
Soulless algorithms
With no end in sight
Thus, by default,
Failing a
Captcha test
Is it “I’ll have
What she’s having”
To ultimately
Gain nothing
Can expectations
Run any higher
Eyes can only
Roll back so far
How are we
Between the
Noise and
Quiet ecstasy
How are we
In complete
Solitude,
Destitute
Wild nature
Seem to have it
Down pat,
Free yet undeterred
How many times
Can you wipe
A slate clean
Before it wears and tears
Edit, Undo
Turn on, turn off
Handed on a plate
With no guts and glory
The thought processes and gut instinct reaction to temptation and addiction.
