Indigo Nirvana
Wavy Purple in the midnight garden
Hiding among hydrangeas and blue ghost flowers
Sad eyes flash electric indigo
And she waters the violets with
Tears of sweet, tormented nectar.
Without a word or kiss farewell
She sinks into the warm, silky black earth
And smiles quietly
As she is cradled
In Darkness.

Eight Days
Words, thoughts racing like shooting stars
Bursting into life then flying then dying
Every creeping ant, every blade of grass
Wets the eyes
Of those who have been touched by fire
Everything... significant
Profoundly... important
Cosmic connections coalescing
Like constellations on that first night
For eight days... I lived
But something, somehow
Somewhere along the way
Changed,
White doves gave way
To black dogs
And that is the ascent into mania
A descent into beautiful madness.

Sunpath
Sun lips, I remember it clearly:
We found each other on the shore.
You told me something I could not hear
Then you retreated quietly,
Gently tiptoeing back over the water
Little splashes here and there
Falling little flickers and flashes
Drops of glowing red
Dipped in plasma
Burning my skin as I chase your shadow
Feet falling through, you Jesus lizard
Where did you go?
If to travel a straight line means to chase a ghost
And if to stare at the sun is to go blind
So be it.
And you said something about butterflies
But you knew only moths follow the light.
