And I smile
KJ Hoyt Jun 2010
The menacing shadows weave silently
Inching their way into my once tranquil sleep.
Tentacle like visions invade
The placid Dreamscapes of my slumbering mind.
So tired of having to want;
Only needing what’s required to truly live.
Despair well nigh devoured hope
Engorged on trepidations, I find
That solely for loves sake
My resolve of spirit toils
As the uninvited shadows languish,
Succumbing to the dawns gentle light
I arise to hope another day
And I smile
With my twisted heap of naive heartstrings broken
My soul filled with the bittersweet essence of
All the hollow passion since faded into fantasies
Hardened, steeled emotions never asking favor
Forever willing to face the edge of loves abyss
Just to take the plunge once more
And I still smile…

Ghosts in the closet
KJ Hoyt Jun 2010
This is a poem that morphed into lyrics and I need some suggestions.  It has a heavy 3/4 moderate tempo.  I have been stuck on these lyrics/poem for over a year and a half. I want to finish the song 3 more and I will have enough for an album.

We all hide secrets from our past,
Ones we’ll never even tell to friends
Kept securely under lock and key.
Never to be thought of again.
Hoping no one ever uncovers
The deep dark secrets that we save.
Telling lies to one another
You get through life that way.

Tommy was a closet queen
He used to wear his mothers clothes
Hang out in dark movie theaters
And do his thing in the back rows.
Bobby’s getting married soon
I wish him all the best
All the guys his wife’s been with
Would leave a **** star impressed
John was our football coach
Used to stare at us in gym
I knew that he had several boys at home
And I felt really sorry for them.

We all have ghosts in the closet
Well-kept secrets fill our heads.
Stuff our conscience in our pockets.
Tear off the clothes and jump in bed.
Praying no one will uncover
The deceitful games that we play
Whisper lies to your lover
Because tomorrow’s another day.

Her
KJ Hoyt Jun 2010
Her
How my soul burns for the times she comforts me.
Lay my weary head upon her soft naked breast.
In the gentle song of her heartbeat there seems to be,
Forgiveness for those sins I dare not confess.
Peering into her sky blue eyes,
I find strength to face tomorrow
In her Delicate embrace there are no lies.
Only sweet escape from all life’s sorrows.
As her love washes all that is morose away
And covers me with only her beauty to see.
I can make it through yet another day.
How I yearn for the times she makes love to me
Touch my wet lips to her sweet inviting flesh.
Engulfed in madness and passion all inhibitions flee.
Our Hearts, our minds, our souls caressed.
Devouring the feast between her milky, marbled thighs.
Filling her deeply with all of my burning desire.
Entwined in lust, we grind, side to side.
Embraced by our loves cleansing fire.
How my soul burns for the times she comforts me.
