June 2020
Kenzie Sep 2020
This has always been my favorite month
But this year brought so much more meaning to the month that I love so much.
The morning summer breeze caused my hair to whip into my face.
Usually, that would cause me to put my hair up.
But you like my hair down, so I suffered through it.
As I’m sitting on my front porch, I look over at you.
We both have our cup of coffee in hand.
I take a deep breath in and think to myself,
“Nothing could make this moment more perfect.
You, me, and coffee all on the front porch.”

Indiana Sunset
Kenzie Sep 2020
I’ve seen a vast number of magnificent sunsets in my years.
None will compare to the Indiana sunset.
The way the sun reflects off the corn
And creates a yellow halo around the leaves is remarkable.
In the middle of a cornfield a sense of calmness washes over me.
I could look at this view for hours.
I am home.
I take out my camera to capture the moment.
I want to remember the beauty.
But the pixels don’t do it justice.
You’d have to see it to understand.

You
Kenzie Sep 2020
You
When I’m with you,
I forget there is a whole world out there
Moving along without us.
Like a really good book
That ***** you in and makes you believe in magic and dragons.
I am so infatuated with you that nothing else matters.
It’s just me, you, and the magic we create when we are together.
