We walked out of the midnight blue Eyes squinting Fingers clinching Holding hands To feel together So long in darkness It nearly overcame us The sun looked foreign at first So pompous in his sky It took us a while To feel better To feel That invariable sigh
It's moving so fast now it's nearly gone That wildfire sun waking me up at dawn Gathering all the memories stashing them away To hold them close & warm on that pending wintry day
