Sun in my eyes
And sun in my hair
Wind at my back
My gaze a blank stare

What you are now,
So once was I
Carefree and limp,
When love was a lie

Now as I lay here
Fragmented and tired,
My heartbeats are constant
But weak, uninspired

Some say it's better
To have loved than have not
But they must live on blindly,
With past love forgot

I want to thrash my limbs
Go dig a grave--
Tear the grass up blade by blade

Scream until my voice falls hoarse,
Until I'm void of all remorse
So I can lay my bones to rest.

Meet me where the sea meets the shore
Where the waves lap and bellow
And the moonlight stains our faces

We'll trade tomorrows for yesterdays
And make promises we can't keep
(But we'll know better than to believe them)

I'll be waiting for you there,
Where the sea meets the shore

I'd let it, the wind,
If only it could
Take me and shake me,
If only it would

Let the waves engulf me,
Suspend me in black
Drench and entrench me,
I'd never look back

I'd follow the sun,
Drifting silent and still
I'd burn, but I'd learn
What's beyond the hill

Let the shadows embrace me,
Turn me deaf, blind, and dumb
Erase and encase me,
As we become one

The sun cowers behind the clouds,
As the birds scream with madness
The trees drip sticky-sweet with blood,
As the ice creams weep in sadness

The wind exhales its dying breath,
The soils crack desperate with thirst
Bodies laid out like corpses in battle,
As the blossoms writhe and burst
