Old tattoo
Robert Boelts Nov 2018
A magicians got many tricks,
Of most I have no clue,
But of the heart that's on the card,
I know it's there for you.

Like a pact signed in blood,
These lines shall rhyme true,
I want you here on my arm,
Just like a rose tattoo.

Whether it be a tiny one,
A skull with a bone or two,
I'll have it inked upon my heart,
Crimson through and through.

And my skin may grow old,
So yours will too,
But who we are will stay strong,
Like the line of that tattoo.

A poem frozen in time is worth a thousand words, but sometimes living in the moment and not being frozen in the past will leave you speechless

What is love?
Robert Boelts Oct 2018
Love has many names
And it takes many forms
Sometimes insane
It can pierce like a thorn
Whether it be small
Or an almighty storm
It’s been all around you
Since the day you were born

Supernova

Supernova
Exploding in fire
Couldn't control it
Too much desire
Now im locked away
Trapped in my own spire
Ran in too fast
Wish I had been tired

I don't mean to come on so strong
Fall so hard
Be so much
Expect the world
After our first touch

But
I'm a hopeless romantic
Not sure I can help it
So much love inside of me
That I feel helpless
Got the world around me
But I'm just selfish

Guess I'm just burnt out

Falling fast
Robert Boelts Sep 2018
A mind racing through the street, In the seat next to me making worries obsolete

My chest overheats when you held my hand, feelings unplanned suddenly lost where I stand

Stuck in quicksand when we lay close, kissing your nose a smile collectively grows

No one knows why the daisy chose to be yellow, but like a lions bellow you had me at hello
