I saw your face today
It was in a cloud of smoke
You came and then you left me
Not a word was spoke
I once was a coward
I was afraid of the truth
Didn’t want to face the devil
But I should have for you

A heart of gold you had
You promised us a lot
I shied away from death
But peace was all you sought
I want to say goodbye
But my chance is long gone now
Now all I can rely on
Is to see your face among the clouds

Breathlessly we fall into a spiral of confusion
Pieces of hope slowly waving into the darkness
So many pieces.
Your truth, your light
It's gone now.
Bare fists beating on the walls of red
But I don't feel it beating any more.
Love is lost and the ***** isn't coming back
The illness is settling in.

Oh silence,
Such a familiar face, I know you so well.
Deja vu gusts through my hair as I admire your beautiful red pedals.
My attraction to you leaves me with pricked fingers without end,
But I cannot say I don’t like it.
So why do I keep coming back?

Oh uncertainty,
Where have you been?
We talk by the fire exchanging fond memories
Sipping bitter liquor that brings back illusions of better days
Despite the war in my mind, I am at peace.
I know of nothing else.

You can tell them I’m crazy, they’ll know I’m not the only one.
