Hypocrisy
Katelyn Rae Aug 2014
Beauty, they say, is in the eye of the beholder. I, myself, believe that it lie in the hand of the perceiver.
For what of the blind?

shipwrecked
Katelyn Rae Aug 2014
Im starting to realize
that there are things about you
I wouldn't have usually allowed myself to
fall for
but somehow
when I talk to you
all the
hurt
the
pain
the
sorrow
the
loss
evaporates into smoke
as if maybe it was
never even there
and I realized
I've simply been looking in all the wrong places.
The titles of my poems simply never match my poetry itself.

Sobriety of Performance
Katelyn Rae Sep 2014
Bow.
Take some time.
Make a wish.
You'll never know unless you try.
Everyone wonders what happens next.
Stand back up.
Look out at the crowd.
Are they here for you?
Who cares about you?
Let your breath go.
You've got this.
You wouldn't be here if you didn't belong.
Turn around.
Perform
Do what you do best.
Believe in yourself.
Not everyone can do what youre doing.
End.
Take a deep breath
Let it go.
You gave it your best.
They're cheering.
Bow.
Take some time.
Make a wish.
Now you know.
But, what's next?
Stand back up.
It will never be over.
This.
Is yours
I twirl.

Forget About Me
Katelyn Rae Sep 2014
Forget that i was the one to pick you up off the floor.
Forget that i was the one who helped you through all your pain.
Forget that i was the one who loved you through everything.
Dont come back to me, when you find out that he isnt going to love you the way i did.
Dont come back to me, when you find out that he wont help you through anything.
I had it just as bad as you did.
Yet i still put all your problems first.
I thought i wouldnt make it through with out you.
I guess i was wrong.
Cause i dont have you now and im doing just as bad as i was with you. maybe ill find someone who is willing to pick up the mess you made out of me.
Who will love me for who i am and not who they made me out to be, So just forget i ever loved you.
Forget i ever cared.
