With each passing hour I feel it sinking in
I'm not truly living just existing in my skin
& though I've tried countless times to set myself free
It seems the world is against me & will not let it be
I remember younger days that were filled with hopes & dreams
Those days are far behind me, sewed tight at the seams
I'm screaming on the inside but silent on the out
It seems I'm always filled with oh so much doubt
I'm swimming in an ocean that never seems to end
Searching for a ray of hope or maybe just a friend
