Stumbling to the door
Intoxicated by darkness and freedom
By strobe lights and social smoking
You sink in your mattress and drown in your blankets
Nothing from this night will be recalled the morning after
So how do you know you had a good time
You'll have a jack hamner in your head
You'll be disorientated and uncomfortable in your skin
But you had a good time?
Silly
You're just a teenager
Karabo Sibanda Sep 2013
We know your secrets, we've drowned in your tears
You've damaged our ears with your loud cries
We cradle your cranium and support your spine
We don't ask for much but a little freshing up and a new coat of paint
We never leave you, we never lie, we never ask, we're your punching bag
you don't even know it
but you need us
Good night

yours truly
The pillow.

You need to appreciate life
Remember when you were younger and your only focus was cartoons and nature
Why did we change
Why can't we climb trees and slide down plastic tubes bursting out the end like water from a pipe
Why can't we hold hands when we cross the street
Why can't we enjoy being in public with our parents
Truth is, we as in earhlings are stupid
We think we've mastered everything there is to master but...
Who has meet our master
Go outside and let the sun shower you
Let the grass tickle your feet
Don't act like you're too good to be happy
Or do whatever you like.
