You call yourself dirt
The mess beneath our feet
You look at it as if it was a mirror
And maybe it is
Maybe you are dirt
Because dirt isn't what we make it out to be
Without dirt
The world would be flowerless
Summer berries
And apple pies
Non existent
Dirt holds life
Dirt holds a meaning
And so do you
kab Jun 2015
Confusion
Unanswered messages of is it over or it it not
Where do we stand
I ask
No reply
Nothing
I know where I am
But where is he
kab Jun 2015
Given that I have seen
Reckless freckles on cherry cheeks
In time and space
Clutching hands
Smooth like the silk
On my back
In the wind
Longing looks
Dreams set aside
For a moment

I want to wander
With your hand in mine
With the heavy air in my lungs
And summer sweat on my back

She is as broken as the sidewalk I walk on today
Once a beautiful path
Dulled by the footprints of the ungrateful
Cracks and crevasses covering her whole
Unrecognized by most
Turned away by others
Weeds push through her body
Disrupting the disrupted even father
Across the street
A freshly paved avenue lays proudly
As her streetlamps flicker in and out

I'd like to thank you
For tangling my limbs with yours
And leaving an ever lasting imprint
On my skin
With kisses of gold

— The End —
