Lost in the haze

Whisked right by words
Slammed left by actions

Thirst for clarification
From the source
Hunger for sincerity
From the touch

Back and fourth
Back and fourth

Soon you will see
That is not for me

Refuse the haze
Protected by my own
You can watch me go

You
Julie S Aug 2012
You
I need you
I don’t know who you are,
But I long for you
You, who will fight for me
You, who will jump to see over these walls
And brick by brick
you will break them down
I need you
You can see the things
I do not realize
You can speak the words
I do not know I need to hear
You,
You can make me feel
You make me WANT to feel
I need you to help me
I can get there someday,
Maybe.
But first,
I need you

Minds cannot be set
By passers by,
They know not depth,
Nor soul, nor reasons why

So said, next sunrise,
They shall venture,
Unbeknownst, of the rays
With un-found luster

Sayings that lack heart
Must be kept in the mind
For they are facile,
A toxic grime

A journey never taken,
Is a picture never seen,
A message never heard,
A warmth never felt,
And a story never shared

If you hold desire
To see the unseen,
To hear the unheard,
To feel the unfelt,
And to know the unknown

Then, set sail
Do it quickly

Horizons hold
So few tomorrows

You may begin to grasp
The depth, the soul
And the reasons why
You’ll be more then a

No Turning Back
Julie S May 2012
Like the swing lingering from the tree
Our past is all you can see

Spiraling down the winding path of insanity
An exit, you must get
Our end has far been met

You put kind words on paper
Even wrote them to a melody,
Filled with flash and flattery
You even say, you love me

Yet, this endeavor is vain
I am sad to say,
You’ve already had your day

No longer the same,
You wouldn’t know more than my name

Each day the cracks grow bigger,
The breaks stronger,
The limb weaker,
Time to cut the swing down
Before it crashes to the ground

Dragging
Julie S Nov 2011
Many a days have passed
Since our eyes met last,
My heart you have, still
Don’t let go,
Don’t drag me along,
Mud, muck and leaves,
Scratched up knees,
Am I doing this to myself?
Am I rolling through,
Or is it you?
Don’t let go,
Lift me higher,
I want you,
You made me smile,
You made me laugh,
With you, I sweat joy
I cried happy,
Mud, muck and leaves,
Pick me back up please.

Shame
Julie S Nov 2011
Your slanderous comments,
burned in my brain,
carved on my wrists,
tattooed on my forehead.
The laughter, always forgotten
The tears, always on hand
Unable to execute perfection
Trying to beam,
You thieve my light
Etching away my soul,
My rock, no,
But the shovel, you are
Deeper and deeper I go
Daunting, the route my mind treks,
A menacing sight to see

Incessant Love
Julie S Nov 2011
Closer it is coming,
Crashing fills my ears
Alas, it is here
My toes are grazed by water
Pink and orange steal my sight
My hair is taken in the wind,
It is brisk to my core,
A hand on my shoulder,
Another on my leg,
I am taken over.
My foot sweeps the shore
Lifted into the air
Arabesque, achieved.
The wind knocks the stress away
And blows happiness my way
I turn to see who is there,
Nothing,
I call out to them,
Nothing.
Darkness steals from me the pink and orange,
Only for me to see one glinting star,
Suddenly, I know,
It was my Liam,
And he loved me so

Wilted Memories
Julie S Nov 2011
Evade my memories, you never will,
no longer do I see
the ***** of your nose,
the arch of your brows,
the curl of your lashes.
Feel your lips, I do,
see your eyes, I may,
but your face, evades me so.
From green to orange,
The snow, it drowns,
Life comes around.
Four times, this pattern,
Evade my memories, you never will
Feel your grasp, I do
Taste your words, I may
still, your love, evades me so.
From green to orange,
The snow, it drowns,
Life comes around
Five times this pattern,
Evade my memories, you never will.
