As the falling rain
Beats against the window,
I could hear the wind
Rattling the shutters
The floorboards creak,
The windows shake,
There is a cold breeze,
Whats that?
I hear a noise,
Footsteps up stairs,
A ghostly whisper in the air,
Then…
Silence.
No more rain
No more wind,
Just silence,
A rat scuttles across the floor,
The lights go out,
Darkness takes over the room,
I can’t see,
Its too dark
A door slams somewhere upstairs,
The stairs complain
As if someone is walking upon them,
I hear the sound of chains
I hear a moan
Someone is here
But who?
But what?
I don’t know
I can’t breathe,
I feel fear,
Anxiety,
Terror,
A chill awakens inside of me,
Something brushes against my arm,
I hear a scream from the attic,
The lights go on.
Silence again,
I hear nothing.

Red,
Like a rose,
Or deeper,
Darker,
We all have it inside,
Flowing like a river,
Through our veins,
Some like to see it,
Some like to think
that it is never there,
But it is,
It is what keeps us
Alive
It is what keeps us
Breathing,
Without it,
There is no life,
There is nothing.

As he rises from the ground,
As he tip-toes through the graveyard,
Into the streets,
He seeks the ones who have past,
Who?
He does not know,
But when he finds them,
He will take them dancing,
Dancing in the graveyard,
Then…
They will rest,
Rest until nighttime,
Where they will all rise and dance,
Again
After midnight.

As my days grow shorter
And the sun starts to descend
i kneel here,
With a shovel in my hands,
Digging in oblivion,
A pit that i will soon forget,
Deep enough
To hide my agony,
Because I have now discovered,
True bliss in this world,
I have learned
To wear a smile upon my face,
In a moment of need,
And when in times distress,
Thing of the positive,
I have determined,
To never dwell in the yesterday
Or think ahead to tomorrow,
But to concentrate on today,
And live like every passing moment
Could be your last.
So here I am,
Beaming with content,
As I walk away from this grave,
Leaving all the negativity and suffering behind,
I will never return to this spot,
From now on,
I will live a life of joy and comfort.

As the grass sways,
A gust of spring wind
whirls through the air,
Living in the forest,
Sleeping on small patches of moss
Growing on the side of a rock,
Or inside the hollow of a tree,
Where they build their homes,
With wild flowers and leaves
To decorate,
Then…
The fairies,
They dance,
Dancing around the forest,
Singing their sweet melody,
The melody,
That the animals awake to.
The song to announce the beginning of spring.

As the day ends,
And the Sun descends,
Colors start to fade,
From Red, Orange, Yellow
And pink clouds in the distance,
To navy blue,
With a blanket of stars
twinkling above,
And a moon at its fullest
Leaving a path of pale light
Across the land,
The air is cool and still
Crickets chirp,
Hear the beating of an owls wings,
As they swoop to the ground
Flying from tree to tree
But noise is hushed
by the night,
It’s calm,
It’s quiet.

Walking outside,
I look up to see,
The clouds over me
Start to form,
Moving,
From white and puffy,
To a dark and dreary gray,
The rain starts to fall,
A light little drizzle,
A cold wind,
Flows gracefully through the air,
I walk back in the house,
I heard the pitter-patter of rain,
Falling on the rooftop.
Creating a soothing sound.

A party,
An occasion,
A great cake,
White,
A heart on top,
A white dress,
Long and graceful,
A bouquet of flowers,
White and Red,
A bow
Holding them together,
Shoes
That can’t be seen
Under the dress,
They’re walking,
Down the aisle,
Towards the loved one,
The one that will soon be…
Forever,
Forever and always.
